Universal Orlando Resort isn't wasting any time building on the success of its newest theme park. Ever since Epic Universe opened, guests have packed its immersive lands, praised its attractions, and embraced the detailed worlds found behind each portal.
The momentum hasn't slowed. While many fans are already wondering what future expansions could bring, Universal continues introducing smaller additions that enhance the experience today. The latest update arrives in Dark Universe, where guests now have another interactive way to immerse themselves in the world of the classic Universal Monsters.
Every Land Offers a Different Adventure
Epic Universe features five themed lands, each delivering a completely different experience.
Guests begin their day in Celestial Park before choosing which portal to enter. They can travel into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, explore SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, soar through How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, or venture into the shadowy streets of Dark Universe.
Each area has developed its own fan following, but Dark Universe has become one of the park's standout destinations. Between its haunting atmosphere, roaming characters, themed dining, and Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, the land offers one of the most immersive experiences anywhere inside Epic Universe.
As the park continues to grow in popularity, Universal has begun expanding the activities available to guests upon arrival.

Universal Designed Epic Universe With Future Growth in Mind
Even before Epic Universe officially opened, Universal planned for the park to keep expanding.
Large sections of undeveloped land remain available for future projects, allowing the resort to introduce new attractions and experiences without dramatically reshaping the existing layout. That long-term planning gives Universal flexibility as Epic Universe continues attracting visitors.
Although those larger projects remain in the future, guests don't have to wait years to see something new. Universal has already begun introducing smaller experiences that help existing lands feel even more interactive.
Dark Universe is the latest example.

Darkmoor Expands Its Experiences
Guests visiting Dark Universe now have another way to transform into one of Universal's legendary monsters.
The Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience has expanded beyond face makeup by introducing temporary tattoos featuring several iconic horror characters.
Universal describes the experience by saying:
“Choose from a unique, temporary tattoo or face makeup experience. Become the Universal Monsters you love: Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, the Bride of Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, The Creature from the Black Lagoon and more. Ages 5+.”
The experience is available for $45 per person, plus tax.
The new tattoo option gives guests a different way to participate in Dark Universe without committing to full monster makeup. Fans can choose artwork inspired by classic characters while continuing to explore Darkmoor throughout the day.
Although it isn't a major attraction, the addition blends naturally with the land's storytelling and offers another personalized experience that extends beyond rides and shows.

Fans Continue Watching a Possible Dark Universe Expansion
While the temporary tattoos represent the newest guest offering, many fans remain focused on something much larger.
Universal has filed paperwork connected to a project covering roughly 71,500 square feet within Dark Universe. The documents identify the size of the development but stop short of revealing what Universal intends to build.
That mystery has sparked plenty of discussion among theme park fans.
Early concept artwork for Epic Universe showed a large enclosed building that never appeared when the park opened. Because of that, some believe Universal could still move forward with plans for another major attraction inside Dark Universe.
One idea continues surfacing more than any other. Many fans speculate that a future dark ride based on The Creature from the Black Lagoon would fit naturally within the land, especially since the classic monster already appears throughout the existing experience.
Universal, however, has not confirmed the project's purpose or announced when construction might begin.

Dark Universe Shows No Signs of Standing Still
Epic Universe may still be one of Universal's newest parks, but it continues evolving.
The addition of temporary monster tattoos offers guests another interactive activity that complements the atmosphere of Dark Universe and expands the Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience. At the same time, the large permit tied to the land keeps speculation alive about what Universal could build next.
Whether the future brings another major attraction or something completely unexpected, Dark Universe continues growing beyond its opening-day lineup. For fans planning a visit, that means there's already something new to experience today, while even stronger possibilities remain on the horizon.
