Feeling Queasy? Avoid These 3 Disney Attractions

Disney World is a blast, but not every ride leaves you with a magical feeling. Some leave you with a churning stomach and a desperate search for the nearest bench. If motion sickness is even remotely an issue for you, here are three rides that can turn your fun-filled day into a queasy mess.

Avatar Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom

This ride is a masterpiece. It’s stunning, immersive, and often ranks as a top favorite for guests. But behind the beauty of Flight of Passage is a motion simulator that doesn’t hold back. You’re strapped onto a seat that mimics flying, and as you soar over Pandora, your body is thrown into dips, dives, and sudden turns—all synced with a massive screen in front of you.

It’s incredibly realistic, which is awesome… unless your stomach has a problem with simulated motion. While many guests walk off amazed, others need a serious break afterward. If screen rides make you dizzy, maybe admire Pandora from the ground instead.

Mad Tea Party – Magic Kingdom

Don’t let the playful look fool you. Mad Tea Party might look like a simple spin ride for kids, but these teacups pack a punch. Located in Fantasyland, the attraction lets you control how fast your teacup spins—and if you’ve got an over-enthusiastic friend or kid in control, you’re in for a ride.

The worst part? There’s no consistent motion. It’s all rapid circles and jerky changes, which can totally disorient your body. Many guests love it for the nostalgia, but if you’re even slightly sensitive to spinning rides, there’s no shame in waving from the sidelines.

Mission: SPACE (Orange) – EPCOT

This one’s legendary—for all the wrong reasons if you’re motion-sensitive. EPCOT’s Mission: SPACE offers two ride options, but the Orange Mission is the intense version, and it’s no joke. Even the toughest theme park daredevils must fight back sickness after this attraction. You’re seated in a capsule that simulates space flight by actually spinning, giving you the sensation of G-forces as you launch toward Mars.

Disney even provides barf bags in the ride vehicle. That should tell you everything you need to know. If you’re claustrophobic, hate spinning, or have a weak stomach, just skip this one. Try the Green Mission instead—it’s the gentler version with zero spinning.

Honorable Mentions:

If you’ve got a sensitive stomach, these rides might not be your best bet either—even if they didn’t make the main list.

  • Star Tours – Hollywood Studios
This simulator jerks you around through space with fast turns, drops, and 3D visuals. It’s fun but chaotic—and the motion isn’t always smooth.

  • Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind – EPCOT
A newer roller coaster that spins you while you ride. It’s smooth, but the combination of movement and storytelling has left more than a few guests dizzy.

  • Soarin’ – EPCOT
This one surprises people. It’s gentle in theory, but if you’re sensitive to heights or big IMAX-style screens, the illusion of flying can be unsettling.

Enjoy the Thrills—Without the Nausea

There’s no shame in skipping rides that could ruin your day. Disney has tons of attractions that are gentle, fun, and won’t leave your stomach upside down. So, if motion sickness is a concern, consider sitting these three out—or at least ride them before you eat that giant turkey leg.
