Five Guys has officially opened at Universal CityWalk Orlando, giving Universal Orlando Resort guests a new burger stop.
The restaurant is the 2,000th Five Guys location worldwide, according to a company announcement released September 25. It occupies the former Burger King Whopper Bar space on CityWalk’s upper level, across from Bread Box Handcrafted Sandwiches. Unlike a typical Five Guys, this location also serves breakfast until 11 a.m., putting it directly into the morning flow of guests heading toward Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.
Five Guys at Universal CityWalk Is Now Open
The opening ends months of waiting after the Burger King Whopper Bar closed in April. Inside the Magic previously reported on the CityWalk restaurant replacement as Universal prepared to swap the long-running Burger King concept for Five Guys.
For Five Guys, the location carries significance beyond Orlando. The company says this is its 2,000th restaurant worldwide, arriving roughly 40 years after the first Five Guys opened in Arlington, Virginia, according to the company announcement supplied for this report.
Guests can expect the brand’s familiar made-to-order lineup after breakfast hours, including burgers, hot dogs, fries and milkshakes. Five Guys is also known for its customizable toppings, giving families and groups plenty of ways to alter an order.
The CityWalk location includes indoor and outdoor seating, according to previously announced details reported by Inside the Magic.
Breakfast Changes the CityWalk Morning Routine
The biggest departure from a standard Five Guys visit happens before 11 a.m. The new restaurant serves breakfast, creating another option for guests arriving at CityWalk before entering the theme parks.
That matters because CityWalk functions as the pedestrian corridor to both Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. Guests coming from Universal’s parking areas move through the entertainment district before reaching the entrances to those parks. Universal’s official CityWalk map shows the district’s relationship to both park entrances.
Universal had already framed the breakfast offering as an option for guests heading into the parks, and Inside the Magic previously noted how the breakfast sandwich could be particularly useful in this corridor.
There is an important distinction, however: neither Five Guys nor Universal has said the restaurant will create morning congestion. Its upper-level location could draw some arriving guests upstairs before park entry, especially during the breakfast window, but any claim of sustained gridlock would be speculation rather than a confirmed operational consequence.
The Former Whopper Bar Space Has a New Identity
Longtime visitors will recognize the location even if the restaurant looks different. Burger King Whopper Bar closed April 21, clearing the way for Five Guys as part of a broader run of changes to Universal CityWalk dining.

One Restaurant Now Covers Early Mornings and Late Nights
Breakfast is only half of the timing story.
Before the official opening, signage spotted at the restaurant advertised Five Guys as open until 1 a.m. during Halloween Horror Nights. Inside the Magic reported the late-night signage while the restaurant was still preparing to open, highlighting how the location could serve guests leaving Universal Studios Florida after the separately ticketed event.
The combination gives Five Guys an unusually broad role during the fall season: breakfast for guests moving toward the parks in the morning and a late-night option for some Halloween Horror Nights crowds.
Guests should not assume 1 a.m. is the restaurant’s permanent closing time. The observed signage specifically concerned Halloween Horror Nights, and Universal advises visitors to use its official app for the latest dining and operating information because offerings and hours can change.
What Universal Orlando Guests Should Know Before Visiting
Five Guys’ arrival is a restaurant opening, but its placement makes it more consequential than another burger shop elsewhere in Orlando. CityWalk sits between the resort’s main parking arrival route and two of Universal Orlando’s theme parks, so food locations there can become part of a guest’s park-day strategy.
Guests interested in breakfast should remember the key cutoff: the breakfast menu is offered until 11 a.m. After that, the restaurant transitions to its regular Five Guys menu.
