Frozen Fan Fest is back, and Disney led with a new short instead of a trailer.
The Night Before the Royal Fitting drops this month on Disney Kids YouTube. Storybook-style animation. It follows Anna after her engagement, as she and Elsa get ready for a special occasion in Arendelle.
Some context.
Frozen 3 does not hit theaters until November 2027. Thirteen months from now.
Most animated sequels start their push six to nine months out. Disney is going a full year-plus early, and doing it with story content rather than a teaser and a toy aisle refresh. That is a company rebuilding engagement over a year, not spiking it over a quarter.
And Read That Short Description Again
After her engagement.
Anna's engagement is a plot point, not set dressing. A short that opens after it, with Anna and Elsa prepping for what sure sounds like a wedding, plants itself squarely between Frozen II and Frozen 3.
Disney has not called it canon. Disney has not called it a bridge to the third movie.
But fans have been arguing about that wedding since 2019, and this is the first thing in years that moves it.
That is the actual news. The rest is a catalog.
US Park Fans, Bad News
The parks piece of Fan Fest is at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris. Both have World of Frozen lands. Neither is in Florida or California.
Hong Kong gets exclusive mini music boxes. Both get mini figurines. Disneyland Paris is wrapping it into its Snowflake Festival with exclusive merch.
Both also have postcards with designs unique to each resort, and you can mail them from mailboxes inside World of Frozen. That part is legitimately great.
Walt Disney World? Disneyland Resort? Nothing announced.
One thing to keep an eye on, though. The big US Frozen attraction is Frozen Ever After in EPCOT's Norway Pavilion, and Disney just filed a construction permit for that building. The filing names no attraction, and Disney has said nothing about it, so connecting the dots would be guessing. But with a third film coming, Norway is the only logical place for domestic Frozen content to show up.
Now, the Merch Pile
Tied to the short: Mattel's Disney Frozen Slumber Sister Set, with Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and 14 bedtime accessories.
Dolls: the Singing “Ice Powers” Elsa Doll at Target, which recreates Elsa building Olaf. American Girl's Frozen Snow Queen Elsa Outfit, built on the fifth spirit reveal. Plus Anna and Elsa Cuddle and Care Sets with Bitty Baby, ten pieces apiece.
Jakks has the Icy Magic Phone. LEGO has Olaf and Bruni's Picnic Fun, set 43287, which converts to a display piece. ZURU brought slime, naturally, with the Slime Mart Disney Shopping Basket.
DisneyStore.com has the Anna and Elsa Arendelle Castle Micro Play Set and a snowflake-patterned Frozen Sleepwear Set.
This One Item Gives Away the Whole Plan
DisneyStore.com is selling a festive Olaf plush with numbered countdown pockets and a Sven-inspired marker.
That is an advent calendar wearing an Olaf costume.
Which tells you this merch wave is not an October promotion. It is built to ride straight through holiday shopping.
Soccer Cleats. Really.
Adidas is putting out Frozen cleats inspired by Elsa, Anna, and Arendelle, this month on Adidas.com and select retailers.
Completely out of nowhere, and probably a smash. There is an enormous number of kids who want Elsa on the field and nobody has bothered to sell it to them until now.
Shirts and Books
Amazon's Merch on Demand has customizable designs, including an Expressions of Olaf design taken from Once Upon a Snowman, and an Elsa Fifth Spirit Snowflake T-Shirt.
Moonlite has Disney Frozen: A Royal Sleepover. Little Golden Book has I am Elsa with retro illustrations.
What You Should Actually Do
Go watch the short. It is free, it is on Disney Kids YouTube this month, and it is the only part of this that adds anything to the story.
Everything else here is a shopping list.
And if you want domestic parks news, there is none yet. Watch EPCOT.
