A private event at Disneyland Resort reportedly spiraled into violence when a group of eight young girls assaulted a Haunted Mansion hostess during a dispute over tickets. The incident, which occurred during a special party for inner-city youth, left the hostess with a broken nose and significant injuries, including clumps of her hair torn out.
According to Mouse Tales: A Behind-The-Ears Look at Disneyland, the conflict happened decades ago when the group attempted to gain access to the attraction with only two tickets—far fewer than required for their entire party. The hostess, tasked with enforcing entry rules, explained the ticketing policy, but the girls became agitated and confrontational.

Altercation Turns Violent
What began as a disagreement quickly escalated into a physical assault. Witnesses reported that the girls punched and kicked the hostess, with one of them allegedly pulling out a significant amount of her hair. The violent attack culminated in the hostess suffering a broken nose, which was later confirmed by medical personnel.
Disney staff and security responded swiftly, intervening to protect the employee and de-escalate the situation. Despite their efforts, the group of girls fled the scene, prompting a pursuit through the park. Cast members from the Haunted Mansion reportedly chased the girls across the resort before apprehending them near the park entrance. The full passage reads:
“During a private party for a group of inner city kids, eight girls handed the young Haunted Mansion hostess only two tickets. When she said she needed more tickets, the girls turned on her. They beat her up, pulled out some hair and broker her nose. Co-workers chased the girls halfway across the park before they caught them.”

A Troubling Incident Amid the Magic
Disneyland Resort is known for its commitment to guest safety and magical experiences, making this violent incident all the more shocking. Private events like the one in question aim to provide unique opportunities for groups, but such occurrences highlight the challenges of managing large gatherings in a high-profile setting.
This incident underscores the importance of supporting Disneyland’s cast members, who are often at the front line of guest interactions. It also raises questions about security protocols during private events, especially those involving large groups.
As Disneyland continues to welcome millions of visitors annually, maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for both cast members and guests remains a top priority. While this event is undoubtedly troubling, it also serves as a reminder of the critical role cast members play in upholding the magic of the Disney experience—even in the face of unexpected challenges.
Why bring this up now if the event happened decades ago?
It’s too bad Disney doesn’t do enough to protect cast members! It’s main concern is always the guests and not the cast members. If they would actually removed unruly/disruptive quests from the Disneyland properties and actually block them for life, maybe people would think twice before acting like animals and causing problems while in the parks.
