Guest Arrested at Magic Kingdom After Shocking “Sudden Snatching”

Walt Disney World Resort is known as The Most Magical Place on Earth, where dreams come true and everything can be accomplished if you just have faith, trust, and pixie dust. Between the amazing hotels, the must-do attractions, and the mouthwatering food, Disney World is truly a place unlike any other. Unfortunately, Disney World is still a part of the real world, and things can happen that shatter the magic Disney works so hard to create.

That happened to one guest who visited the Magic Kingdom, ready to experience the holidays as only Disney can do them. According to a recently released police report, a woman — identified as Susan Maravilla — was exiting a ride with her husband and child. They began to walk towards another ride when a man began shouting at them. The man is identified in the report as Mark Robinson.

The report states that Robinson approached Maravilla and her family and “proceeded to forcefully snatch” a pair of Mickey ears off of her head. Robinson claimed that the ears belonged to his young daughter, but Maravilla said that the ears were hers, and that she had purchased them from a Disney outlet store several years before.

Ms. Maravilla’s husband told police that he pushed Mr. Robinson away from his wife as she went to find Disney security.

When police officers spoke to Mr. Robinson, he told them that, when his family exited a ride in the park, his daughter asked to go back to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Tomorrowland. She said that she thought she had left her Mickey Mouse ears on the ride. As they made their way back, Mr. Robinson said that he spotted Ms. Maravilla, who was wearing a pair of ears similar to the ones his daughter had lost.

Mr. Robinson admitted to yanking the ears directly off of Ms. Maravilla’s head, claiming they were his daughters. He even told her to go get Disney security. When he was taken to a back office and was told the police were coming, he asked to be medically evaluated by Reedy Creek Fire Rescue.

After speaking with police, Mr. Robinson was placed under arrest and charged with robbery (sudden snatching), a third-degree felony in the state. He was later released on a $2,000 bond. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

A String of Disney Arrests

Sadly, this is not the first time — nor will it be the last — that there have been arrests at Walt Disney’s Magic Kingdom.

Back in January, an elderly man was arrested for assaulting a woman who was waiting for a parade to start. The man wanted the woman, who was sitting on the curb, to move, so he repeatedly kicked her in the backside. The man also yelled at her, while he continuously assaulted her, alongside his wife.

The man was not only arrested, but was banned from Disney property.

In the summer of 2022, a father and son were seen being taken out of the Magic Kingdom in handcuffs. The younger of the two appeared to be just a teenager. According to the TikTok videos that were shared of the arrest, the pair were taken into custody after multiple guests reported having items stolen from their strollers while they were enjoying attractions.

The younger of the two reportedly became aggressive with the police, and a stolen wallet was allegedly never recovered.

Disney takes acts of theft and violence very seriously. Should a guest find themselves on the wrong end of the law, they can also find themselves receiving a trespass notice from Disney. That means that they are no longer allowed to set foot on a Disney property for a certain amount of time.
