Guests Refused Entry to Jurassic World Attraction, Now Set To Close

Jurassic World has been a cornerstone of Universal Studios resorts for decades. The franchise has since expanded globally, with attractions such as Jurassic World: The Ride and VelociCoaster offering thrill-seekers encounters with life-size and life-like dinosaurs.

Beyond the rides, immersive exhibitions and interactive experiences have allowed fans to walk among animatronic re-creations of their favorite prehistoric creatures.

One of the latest iterations, Jurassic World: The Experience, opened last year at Battersea Power Station in London as a reimagined version of Jurassic World: The Exhibition.

Guests can board a ferry to Isla Nublar, come face-to-face with all sorts of dinosaurs, explore the Valley of the Gyrospheres, and experience a close encounter with a towering Tyrannosaurus rex, all within a fully interactive, walk-through environment.

“Board the ferry to Isla Nublar and pass through the towering gates of Jurassic World,” the official website’s description reads.

It adds: “Walk beneath the shadow of a majestic Brachiosaurus, come face to face with fierce Velociraptors, venture into the Valley of the Gyrospheres, take a selfie with a baby dinosaur, then brace yourself for the ultimate heart-pounding moment: a close encounter with the most legendary predator of them all… the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex.”

However, the attraction recently ran into major issues.

On Monday, December 29, a booking system error left roughly 30 visitors with discounted tickets unable to gain entry. Now, Neon, the company behind the experience, and Wowcher, which supplied the vouchers, have both apologized publicly, per the BBC.

While most guests were offered alternative time slots, some families were forced to leave without entering the exhibit. Both companies confirmed that full refunds would be issued and that processes are being reviewed to prevent future problems.

Although with that said, the Battersea exhibit is set to close permanently on Sunday, January 4. Fortunately, fans who still want to interact with Jurassic World’s dinosaurs can visit Universal Studios theme park resorts worldwide, where most Jurassic log flume rides, roller coasters, themed areas, and immersive experiences remain fully operational.

Looking ahead, Universal Studios Great Britain is under construction in Bedfordshire and expected to open in 2031, with Jurassic World rumored to be part of the lineup.

In addition, fans can look forward to “Jurassic Park: Survival”, an upcoming first-person action-adventure game that returns to Isla Nublar just 24 hours after the 1993 film.
