Universal Announces Terrifying New HHN 34 House on Friday the 13th

Fear Stricken Into the Hearts of Millions

Screams echo through the trees at HHN 34 in Hollywood and Orlando. The wind whispers warnings. Camp Crystal Lake is no longer just a setting in a slasher film—it’s your worst nightmare come to life. In a surprise announcement timed to land on this year’s only Friday the 13th, Universal Studios confirmed that Jason Voorhees is back, and he’s more relentless than ever.

But what exactly does Universal have planned for fans of the Friday the 13th saga? And why now?

A New House for a Horror Icon at HHN 34

Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort will both feature a brand-new haunted house at Halloween Horror Nights 2025 titled Jason Universe. Far from a simple rehash of the classic films, this house introduces an original narrative that revisits Jason’s origins while unleashing all-new horrors on unsuspecting guests.

In this twisted retelling, visitors will return to where the blood-soaked legend began—Camp Crystal Lake. Described by the parks as a “vengeance tour,” the experience will lead guests through Jason’s decrepit cabin, a crumbling lakeside lodge, and deep into the shadowy woods where no one is safe.

Killer Moments, Unrelenting Fear

Fans can expect an immersive walkthrough experience that blends Jason’s most iconic kills with fresh scares tailored for today’s thrill-seeking audiences. Whether you’re familiar with his machete-wielding ways or entering Crystal Lake for the first time, the house promises “killer moments” pulled from throughout Jason’s cinematic legacy.

Following last year’s success with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Legacy of Leatherface—a house that cleverly wove original storytelling with long-running franchise lore—this addition proves Universal is doubling down on creating horror attractions that resonate with both nostalgia and innovation.

HHN Grows Beyond the Parks

This is only the second house revealed for HHN 2025, joining the already announced Fallout-themed experience based on the popular video game and Prime Video series. But Universal’s horror ambitions stretch far beyond Orlando and Hollywood.

In 2025, Universal will also open Universal Horror Unleashed in Las Vegas, a year-round haunted attraction featuring themes like The Exorcist: Believer, Scarecrow: The Reaping, and Universal’s classic monsters. Meanwhile, the highly anticipated Epic Universe park in Orlando will debut “Dark Universe,” a land devoted entirely to iconic creatures like Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Invisible Man.

It’s clear that Universal isn’t just keeping horror alive—they’re building an empire around it.

Why Jason’s Return Matters for HHN 34

The announcement of Jason Universe isn’t just exciting for slasher fans—it signals a larger shift in how Universal approaches themed entertainment. These houses are no longer just seasonal thrills; they’re intricate narratives that expand and celebrate horror history while raising the bar for immersive storytelling.

By choosing to spotlight Jason Voorhees 45 years after his film debut, Universal pays tribute to one of horror’s most enduring icons—and keeps his legacy alive for a new generation of fans.

Since first stepping inside the Magic Kingdom at nine years old, I knew I was destined to be a theme Park enthusiast. Although I consider myself a theme Park junkie, I still have much to learn and discover about Disney. Universal Orlando Resort has my heart; being an Annual Passholder means visiting my favorite places on Earth when possible! When I’m not writing about Disney, Universal, or entertainment news, you’ll find me cruising on my motorcycle, hiking throughout my local metro parks, or spending quality time with my girlfriend, family, or friends.
