Disney has been sharing lots of new details for what Guests can expect this holiday season at the Walt Disney World Resort, and it looks like EPCOT is the place to be this year during the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. This year’s Festival of the Holidays will run November 26-December 30, 2021 and will include the return of Candlelight Processional (for the first time since 2019), outdoor kitchens, holiday sweets and treats, live entertainment with storytellers around World Showcase and more.

Here’s an outline of what you can expect for storytellers this year:

Storytellers will be stationed throughout the 11 countries of World Showcase, sharing holiday traditions around the world, including:

  • Las Posadas at the Mexico pavilion
  • Canadian Holiday Voyageurs in the Canada pavilion
  • Chinese Lion Dance celebrating the new year in the China pavilion
  • A Hanukkah storyteller along the promenade and holiday storytellers in France, Italy, Japan, Norway and the United Kingdom
  • Santa Claus outside the American Adventure pavilion*

*In a chance from previous years Santa Claus will be greeting Guests from a distance, where Guests will be able to wave hello to him.

The storytellers in World Showcase are a large part of what makes visiting EPCOT during the holiday season such a memorable experience. Their lively storytelling offers Guests a fun way to learn about different cultures and traditions all while talking just over a mile walk “around the world.”

To experience the storytellers for yourself, as well as other offerings like Candlelight Processional and outdoor kitchens, plan your next visit to EPCOT between November 26 and December 30, 2021. As you plan for the holiday season in EPCOT, remember that dinner packages for Candlelight Processional open for online booking on October 26, and that valid theme park admission and a park reservation is required for access to this event.
