How to Travel to Walt Disney World with a Large Group

Let me start by saying that I have no idea how not to travel to Walt Disney World with a large group. Why? One simple reason—I have a big family (my four children, my husband, our nanny and me), and we always bring another family with us; no sense in being greedy with that kind of magic and excitement! We like to share Disney with anyone who gets excited about it with us! For us, the fun and number of magical experiences we can have at Disney World is a direct correlation to the number of friends and family in our traveling party. It just works better. There is no place on earth where “the more, the merrier” is any truer.

But Disney World is a massive place—four theme parks, two water parks, a shopping and entertainment district, over 30 resort hotels (and their respective restaurants and eateries)—so taking a big group to the parks is no small feat. But not only is it completely do-able with some planning and preparation, it is also the absolute best way to experience the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort.

Here’s how you do it.

I am a writer and a Mom to four children and two baby shih-tzus. My first experience with the Magic was in 1988, when my parents surprised my brother and me with a visit to Walt Disney World after a short trip to see friends in Georgia. I still hum the tune played during the Main Street Electrical Parade and remember the feeling of excitement from my very first visit. I introduced my husband to the Magic several years ago, and we take our children to the parks every time we can. No matter how many times I visit Walt Disney World, it seems it’s not enough! The ever-changing experience only gets better with each trip, and I’m thrilled to share the Magic with others, as well as some of the tips and tricks to getting the most out of the Magic with each visit!
