Disneyland recently underwent significant changes with the closure of the iconic Splash Mountain ride, which took place in May 2023. This closure was part of a broader transformation to retheme the ride to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, inspired by Disney’s The Princess and the Frog (2009). Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is scheduled to open on November 15, 2024. This new attraction will replace Splash Mountain in the renamed Bayou Country, emphasizing the themes of Southern culture and cuisine.

In addition to transforming Splash Mountain into Tiana's Bayou Adventure, Disney also announced that the popular Hungry Bear Restaurant would become Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree. The change is inspired by the legendary Country Bear Jamboree and will feature some mouthwatering barbecue options.
The Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree promises a delectable menu that highlights various barbecue dishes. Guests can expect a selection of unique offerings, including a Smoked Barbecue Combo Platter featuring house-smoked meats, and a Barbecue Pulled Pork Sandwich served with beer-battered fries. Kid-friendly options, such as chicken tenders and a toasted cheese sandwich, ensure families have suitable meal choices.
Additionally, the dessert menu includes delightful options like banana pudding and funnel cake fries, further enhancing the dining experience.

Finally, months after announcing the barbecue retheme of Hungry Bear Restaurant, Disney has finally confirmed an opening date! While Tiana's Bayou Adventure will not open until November 15, Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree will open on October 25!
The opening of Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree will happen while Tiana's Bayou Adventure undergoes ride previews by Disneyland's Magic Key Holders. Magic Key Holder previews will begin on October 21 and run through November 12. One day after Key Holder previews end, the Bayou Country gift shop will open, offering up all types of merchandise to celebrate Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

Right next to Critter Country/Bayou Country lies New Orleans Square, the home of Disney's iconic Haunted Mansion attraction. In addition to the construction going on at Tiana's Bayou Adventure, the Haunted Mansion also has a lot happening.
The attraction currently utilizes a virtual queue, as most of the standby queue is undergoing a huge retheme. The queue is being changed to look more like the one in Walt Disney World. A store — much like Memento Mori — is also being added, so guests will have a brand-new shop to purchase their favorite Haunted Mansion merchandise!
