In a rare and eerie trend, former cast members at Disney theme parks have recently come forward to share spine-chilling stories about ghostly encounters while on duty. While the world-renowned parks are usually associated with magical, family-friendly memories, these stories hint at an altogether different kind of enchantment – one of spectral sightings, disembodied voices, and otherworldly apparitions lurking behind the scenes.

Is Disney Haunted? These Cast Members Say Yes…

One of the most unsettling accounts comes from a former custodial cast member who recalled an experience beneath Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion, an attraction known for its ghostly theme. The cast member described the maze-like backstage hallways that run underneath the ride, mentioning how easy it was to get lost in the dimly lit corridors.

While navigating the passageways one day, they passed by a custodial closet and spotted a colleague, a woman with whom they’d only briefly interacted before. The cast member gave her a quick smile as they walked by, unaware that this would be the last time they’d ever “see” her. “A week or so later,” the cast member recounted, “another CM told me that same woman had died recently. I’m fairly positive she died just before I ‘saw’ her in that closet.”

This brush with the unexplained wasn’t an isolated incident. The same cast member detailed another ghostly encounter on Main Street, U.S.A., this time in the early morning, shortly after the park had opened. While sweeping near the iconic statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse, they heard a voice behind them – an older gentleman politely calling, “Excuse me, miss.

As they turned around, expecting to provide directions or assistance, they were met with nothing but empty space. Confused, the cast member looked around for anyone who might resemble an older man. “There wasn’t a single person near me,” they recalled, describing the unsettling quiet that followed the phantom voice.

Cast Member Deleted Evidence of Alleges Monster

Other cast members have reported their own eerie experiences, adding to the lore. One third-shift custodial cast member cleaning Autopia claimed to have heard strange, unidentifiable noises. Curiosity piqued, he snapped a photo in the area, only to be horrified by the image that appeared: a dark shadow that resembled a lion’s head on a human body, with legs twisted backward in a grotesque fashion. Shaken, he showed the photo to a security officer nearby, who promptly told him to delete it. Fortunately, he’d already sent a copy to a friend, who later shared it with others. He shared:

“Finally, there was a third shift custodial cm who was cleaning autopia who kept hearing weird sounds. He took a photo, and was freaked out when he saw what looked like a shadow of a lions head, on a human body, with its legs bent backwards. I didn’t believe this until I saw the photo for myself. He got out of there and showed it to the closest cm. The cm was a security who actually made him delete the photo! But luckily he had already sent it to a friend of mine, who showed me. I have no clue what it was, but the photo was so scary.”
