Earlier this summer, Vice President JD Vance brought his family along for a day of fun at “The Happiest Place on Earth.” This trip garnered considerable media attention, mainly since Vance and President Trump have previously expressed criticisms of Disney as a corporation.

As photos and stories of his Disneyland adventure spread, they sparked lively conversations online about how public figures interact with such beloved entertainment venues. Vance's visit contrasted with past political figures, who often attack the Disney company for its political stances.

However, perhaps the most surprising part of this trip is what Vance said about certain attractions.

In a surprising twist, when asked about his favorite attraction during his Disneyland visit, Vance specifically mentioned Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

The decision to close Splash Mountain stemmed from years of criticism surrounding its origins in the controversial film Song of the South. The transformation aimed to reflect current values and promote diversity, with many Disney fans expressing mixed feelings about the closure.

When Tiana's Bayou Adventure debuted, reactions varied widely among park-goers. While some latched onto the idea of a fresh narrative focusing on Princess Tiana, others mourned the loss of a beloved ride that had been a staple at Disney parks for decades. Fans engaged in passionate debates, and petitions emerged to protest the change, highlighting the deep emotional connections people have with Disney attractions.

Vance also shared his least favorite Disney ride during his podcast appearance, naming Space Mountain as his choice due to an inability to handle roller coasters. This admission raised eyebrows in the Disney community, where Space Mountain is often viewed as a rite of passage for park enthusiasts.

Luke Dammann

When at Disney world, Luke will probably be found eating with his favorite animatronic, Sonny Eclipse at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. When not at Disney World, Luke will probably be found defending Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe to people who claim "there are better restaurants"

  1. This is not a praise for slavery, but just a correction of our thinking on the subject.
If one thinks just a bit, all the references to slavery in this country should actually be noted. If it hadn’t been for slavery, there WOULD NOT be 40 million Americans of African Descent alive today. Survival on the African contenent during the time of slavery was tenuous at best. Infant mortality was at 50% at times (missionary diaries); maternal survival wasn’t much better due to hemorhaging. Famines from dorughts, periodic insect infestations (ref. the Bible and the Egyptian plagues), attacks by old, infirmed preditors, or pack animals (hyenas) were common.
NO !!! Slavery was evil, but without it, the populations of the Western Hemisphere would be very different.
