Artificial intelligence is no longer just a behind-the-scenes tool for Disney. The company is becoming increasingly open about how the technology is helping shape everything from attraction development to vacation planning, giving fans a better understanding of where AI fits into the future of Disney Experiences.
During the company's latest earnings call, CEO Josh D'Amaro shared new details about the role artificial intelligence already plays inside Walt Disney Imagineering. His comments offered one of the strongest indications yet that AI will become an important part of how Disney designs, builds, and operates its parks, even as the company insists creativity will remain in human hands.
J.A.R.V.I.S. Is Already Assisting Imagineers
Among the biggest announcements was an update to Disney's internal AI platform, J.A.R.V.I.S.
The system gives more than 2,000 Imagineers instant access to over 70 years of institutional knowledge, making it much easier to reference previous projects, engineering information, attraction history, technical solutions, and creative ideas collected throughout Disney's history.
Disney is also using AI-powered digital twins and simulation tools during attraction development. Those virtual models allow teams to evaluate ride systems, refine designs, and identify potential issues before construction reaches later stages.
The company has confirmed that those same tools are already helping develop Disney's future theme park in Abu Dhabi, allowing teams to improve projects well before they become reality.

D'Amaro Says AI Will Support Creative Teams
Artificial intelligence has sparked plenty of discussion across creative industries, but D'Amaro emphasized that Disney sees the technology as a way to strengthen the creative process rather than replace it.
He explained that Disney has spent decades developing artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities through organizations including Walt Disney Imagineering, Pixar, Industrial Light & Magic, and Disney Research Studios.
According to D'Amaro, storytelling will continue to be led by artists and creators. AI simply provides another resource that helps teams work more efficiently while giving them faster access to information and design tools.
He also noted that Disney is already using AI to help design, build, and operate attractions while expanding its use in other parts of Disney Experiences.

New Projects Could Benefit From the Technology
The timing of D'Amaro's comments is significant because Disney is currently working on several of its largest expansion projects in years.
At Walt Disney World, development continues on Villains Land at Magic Kingdom, Piston Peak National Park, Monstropolis at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Tropical Americas at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Disney is also moving forward with Avengers Campus expansion projects and additional developments worldwide.
Although Disney has not identified exactly which projects are using J.A.R.V.I.S., the company has confirmed that AI-powered design and simulation technology is already helping develop future attractions. Those tools could allow Imagineers to test ideas more efficiently, solve engineering challenges earlier, and improve designs before construction advances.
Supporters believe those improvements could ultimately save both time and money during development.

Not Every Fan Is Comfortable With AI
Despite Disney's assurances, the announcement has raised questions among some fans.
Imagineering has built its reputation on creativity, innovation, and original storytelling. Because of that, some Disney fans worry artificial intelligence could gradually reduce the human element that has defined the parks for decades.
Others wonder whether an AI system built on decades of historical data could encourage teams to revisit familiar concepts rather than create entirely new experiences. Similar concerns continue to surface throughout the entertainment industry as more companies adopt AI tools.
Even with those concerns, D'Amaro maintained that Disney intends for AI to remain a supporting tool rather than the source of creative ideas.

AI Is Also Changing the Guest Experience
Imagineering is the only area where Disney is putting artificial intelligence to work.
The company says AI is helping simplify vacation planning by making parts of the booking process easier, improving how trip information appears inside the My Disney Experience app, and reducing some of the planning decisions guests make throughout the day. Disney has said those changes have resulted in higher guest satisfaction and fewer reported planning challenges.
AI-assisted tools are also being introduced for Cast Members, providing them with additional resources to assist guests during their visits better.
Taken together, the announcements show Disney is expanding artificial intelligence across much of its Experiences division. As more attractions, lands, and parks move from concept to construction, many fans will be watching to see whether AI simply makes Imagineers more efficient or becomes an even larger part of Disney's creative future.
