TV shows are often cancelled — sometimes, in the sad case of this Disney+ Willow reboot, after only one season — so it’s always a pleasant surprise when a television show sticks around. To stick around for more than 30 seasons, however? That’s really saying something!
The show Dancing With The Stars holds that coveted title, and now the show is going through some big changes on the cusp of its 32nd season — starting with the replacement of former America’s Next Top Model host Tyra Banks, whose exit was recently announced.
Tyra Banks is actually being replaced by someone unexpectedly close to home: Julianne Hough is taking the reins alongside Alfonso Ribeiro!

Julianne Hough first rose to prominence as one of the professional dancers on the ABC show — as did her brother Derek Hough. Now, the duo are known for being affiliated with many Disney programs or Disney-themed performances, which culminated in some Disney holiday specials and one recent Disney+ dance extravaganza.
Julianne Hough shared the news about her new role on Dancing with the Stars in a post on Instagram, saying the following in a statement to Variety: “It is such an honor to be rejoining ‘Dancing with the Stars’ as co-host. The show holds such a special place in my heart from the many years and different roles I have had the privilege of being a part of. The incredible team that brings the ballroom to life every night has been my family for the past 17 years.”
“I am so excited to reunite with Alfonso, Carrie Ann, Bruno, Derek, the unbelievably talented pros, and the amazing cast on the dance floor. The energy is magnetic every time you step foot in to the ballroom and I can’t wait to feel it again — and of course to share it all with the absolute best and most loyal fans — for another exciting season,” Hough said enthusiastically.

Julianne Hough’s brother, dancer and fellow Disney darling Derek Hough, also revealed today that he will be returning to Dancing with the Stars — but in a different role than his sister.
“Here We Go!” Hough wrote on Instagram after his sister’s announcement. “Season 32 is officially official. Yes, I will be on @dancingwiththestars and Touring the Country simultaneously so you can all tell me in person if you agree with my scores in real time😉 Is it FALL yet ? Can’t wait!”
“Oh. I hear we have a new co-host. She has a weird last name, really hard to pronounce,” Hough joked.

KINRGY founder and dancer Julianne Hough responded in kind, commenting “Is it How? Ho? Hugh? Hog? Whatever it is… it’s your last name too! Love you D, see ya in the Ballroom!”.
