The Jurassic Park franchise has been thrilling audiences since 1993 when dinosaurs first roared to life on the big screen. Over the decades, the series evolved into the Jurassic World saga, which spawned sequels, animated shows, short films, video games, and more.

Now, the franchise is undergoing yet another soft reboot with Jurassic World Rebirth, which will hit theaters in July 2025. Starring Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) icon Scarlett Johansson, the new installment promises “an ingenious new direction,” new dinosaurs, and epic action sequences that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats all over again.

But while the Jurassic franchise is set to continue moving forward, with Jurassic World Rebirth taking place five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, fans can also expect to take a trip down memory lane with the upcoming game “Jurassic Park: Survival.”

The first-person action-adventure video game will take players back to Isla Nublar just 24 hours after the original 1993 film as players step into the role of Dr. Maya Joshi, an InGen scientist who missed the last boat out. Left alone in the remnants of Jurassic Park, Maya faces a perilous journey of survival amidst the island’s free-roaming dinosaurs.

While we probably won’t see characters like Alan Grant or Ian Malcolm show up, players will find hints of the original film scattered around the island. But don’t get too comfortable reminiscing, because the island’s dinosaurs are far from friendly. Velociraptors, T-Rexes, and other prehistoric creatures now roam the island, turning each area into a death trap.

Players will explore iconic locations from the movie, such as the Visitor Center’s movie theater where Mr. DNA first welcomed tourists to the park. In fact, the animated mascot himself will make a return in the game, as revealed in a series of screenshots from the game that Universal and Saber Interactive shared via an internal Q&A with IGN earlier this year.
