Ron DeSantis Issues Emergency Declaration
On Saturday, Governor Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency for several counties in Florida, prominently including Polk County, where LEGOLAND Florida Resort is located. On Sunday afternoon, the tropical storm was upgraded to a Category 3 hurricane, with the National Hurricane Center predicting it would make landfall in Tampa.
Both Universal Orlando Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, also under a state of emergency in neighboring Orange County, issued statements regarding their operational status during the impending storm. Both plan to remain open this week, though certain experiences may be unavailable.
LEGOLAND Florida Resort's Response to Hurricane Milton
On Sunday afternoon, LEGOLAND Florida Resort issued the following statement to fans on its website and social media profiles:
“PARK UPDATE: We are closely monitoring Hurricane Milton. At this time, our Park operations and hours are continuing as normal. Please check back here or on our website for updates.”
LEGOLAND Florida Resort also maintains a weather information page on its website, where theme park guests can get updated information on operational changes and closures.
Park Operations and Guest Policies
The Central Florida theme park destination cautioned that special experiences, such as LEGOLAND Pirate Island and LEGOLAND Beach Retreat, could be affected due to safety considerations and operational constraints prompted by Hurricane Milton.
