McDonalds is Coming Soon to Tokyo Disney Resort!

Do you remember the old days when McDonalds could be seen in Walt Disney World theme parks? That partnership has long since ended, and while we do still see promotions with McDonalds, like the current Happy Meal Toys celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort, we do not often see McDonalds nearby Disney parks anymore.

(The exception is the McDonalds located by Disney’s All Star Resorts. However…who eats at that McDonalds?! It isn’t possible to reach unless you have your own car, but if you have your own car why would you pay a premium to eat at a McDonalds on Disney property? I digress…)

For Guests visiting Tokyo Disney Resort however, the fast food scene is about to change. We do not yet have an opening date that is any more specific than simply December of this year, but we have learned that a McDonalds restaurant will be coming to the Tokyo Disney Resort!

The new restaurant will take over the space occupied by the Tokyo Disney Resort Ticket Center, making it easy to reach for Guests visiting both Tokyo parks, Disneyland and DisneySea and for those arriving from Disney hotels or from the JR Maihama Station.

Tokyo Disney Resort is actually known for its unique foodie scene, not just in terms of delicious items we do not have in the stateside parks simply for the international factor, but the resort is known for its abundance of Mickey-shaped and character themed food, plus fun flavors in snacks like mochi and popcorn.

While the resort is home to a number of wonderful table service, buffet and even signature dining experiences, and the snacks are top-notch, some Guests can be left looking for just a quick and easy place to grab lunch on the go. As a result, we think McDonalds will be a welcome addition and we are so curious to learn later if they will be offering any items specific to this location.
