The Polynesian Disney princess named Moana has had Disney fans all abuzz lately, partly due to her new status as “Queen of the Sea“, partly due to her new EPCOT ride called Journey of Water, and partly due to the hilariousĀ MoanaĀ memes that have resurfaced after her live-action movie was announced.
Moana Has Had Enough of the Limelight
However, it seems like Moana herself is sick of all the extra attention!
The character performer who usually plays Moana in Disneyland (and who looks something like the character performers who play Moana in Disney’s Aulani Resort, shown below) has apparently left work without notice and literally failed to appear on Moana’s designated parade float.

A Disappointing Disappearance
This bizarre disappearance happened during the Magic Happens parade in Disneyland Resort, leaving MoanaĀ fans and Disney princess fans (of which there are many) shocked and disappointed.
Moana is a huge fan favorite — and so is the demigod Maui, even if his costume might need a bit more mystery going forward — but she was nowhere to be found during this Disneyland parade!

Footage of the empty Moana Magic Happens parade float was shared on TikTok in the video shown below from @versacevibez, who shares a great deal of Disney content in general.
“When Moana can’t get a reservation but Magic Happens must go on,” the TikTok user joked, poking fun at Disney’s notorious dining reservation system in the Disney Parks.

Did Moana Quit?
The heroine of Motonui failed to return to the float, and no explanation was given for her absence.
We have seen Disney character performers leave parade floats or Disney events abruptly before — usually after giving an emergency signal to their handlers — but seeing a completely empty parade float slowly travel through a Disneyland crowd is a massive oversight on Disney’s part!
