For approximately $5,000 would you book a dinner reservation at Morimoto Asia (albeit with some incredible aged, very rare whisky and accompanied and served by Chef Morimoto himself) or would you book a reservation aboard the new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser? While these are totally different experiences with lots of value depending on the Guest, this was our first thought when we learned about this exclusive dining experience coming to Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs!
The event is scheduled for December 4, 2021, and will not only feature a multi-course dinner prepared and served by Chef Masaharu Morimoto but will also feature a glass of Yamazaki 55, one of the rarest Japanese whiskies. Yamazaki 55 is the oldest Japanese whisky, aged for 55 years, and currently only 200 bottles exist in the entire world.
For reference, if you are not up on your high end whisky, we did a quick Google search and found that a bottle when available typically retails for about $60,000 (USD) and they have been sold at auction for upwards of $800,000. Considering this pricing plus the fact that Guests will be enjoying a personal dinner created by Chef Morimoto with each course paired to a variant of the whisky, (and we almost can’t believe we are saying this…) but $5,055 actually seems like a fair price.
On top of all of the above, attendees will receive a custom engraved Yamazaki 55 glass as a keepsake for the event. With only 14 seats available, this is potentially the most unique dining experience to arrive at Disney Springs, and with the exclusive whisky that would be difficult to track down otherwise, it really is a once in a lifetime event for those interested.
If this event sounds like it’s for you, we do recommend registering soon. Opportunities to try Yamazaki 55 or dine with a meal prepared exclusively by Chef Morimoto do not come around too often!
