Most people associate a Walt Disney World Resort trip with meeting Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto.

But there are also many other characters to see while visiting the four theme parks (Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios).

Main Disney Characters

In addition to the classic Disney mascots, you can find a variety of Disney Princesses, villains, and unique characters.

While watching a parade down Main Street, U.S.A., at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, you can spot Elsa and Anna from Frozen, as well as Pinocchio, Peter Pan, and a few of the seven dwarfs.

But outside of Magic Kingdom, you can also meet many other characters at EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. EPCOT is usually home to characters who can call the various countries at World Showcase home.

Examples would be Alice from Alice in Wonderland and Winnie the Pooh at the United Kingdom Pavilion or Snow White in Germany.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom will often allow you to meet friends from The Jungle Book, Lion King, and other animal-based characters.

Finally, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is where you will most likely see Pixar friends, Star Wars characters, and you can even spot certain friends like Belle and the Beast at a stage show.

A New Disney Character

But now a new character is coming to EPCOT for Disney fanatics to enjoy: Asha from the upcoming Disney movie Wish.

Beginning today (November 1), park guests can meet Disney’s newest animated celebrity, Asha. She is at the World Showcase at the Friendship Ambassador Gazebo and available from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Wish Movie

The upcoming Disney film Wish releases on November 22, but select locations offer early access screenings on November 18. It follows the story of Asha who lives in the land of Rosas in the Kingdom of Wishes and finds a wishing star.

The new animated Disney movie will star the voice talents of Ariana DeBose as Asha, Chris Pine as King Magnifico, and Alan Tudyk as Valentino, a talking goat.

The new movie returns to tropes from classic Disney films, such as talking animal sidekicks, magical kingdoms, original songs, and musical numbers.

Walt Disney World held casting for Asha look-a-likes this past summer and, in September, confirmed she would be appearing at the theme parks.

In addition to her appearance at EPCOT, she can also be found at Disneyland Park in Anaheim (on November 22) and Disneyland Paris later this month.

About Steven

Steven has a complicated relationship with Disney. As a child, he visited Walt Disney World every few years with his family. But he never understood why kids his age (and older) were so scared of Snow White or Alien Encounter. He is a former participant of the Disney College Program (left early…long story), and he also previously worked in Children’s publishing, where he adapted multiple Disney movies and TV shows. He has many controversial opinions about Disney…like having a positive view of Michael Eisner, believing Return of the Jedi is superior to The Empire Strikes Back, and that Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge should have never been built (at least not at Hollywood Studios). Every year for the past two decades, Steven has visited either Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani or went on a Disney Cruise. He’s happy to share any and all knowledge of the Disney destinations (and he likes using parenthesis a lot…as well as ellipses…)
