Cast members staffing parking facilities across Walt Disney World Resort's four Central Florida theme parks began wearing completely redesigned costumes over the weekend. WDWNT first documented the unexpected wardrobe update, which caught many observers off guard, given that Walt Disney World Resort had only recently updated parking cast member attire in 2024.

Within Disney parks terminology, “costume” encompasses all cast member uniforms across departments, extending well beyond character performer outfits to include operational staff attire throughout the resort.

The redesigned high-visibility costumes made their initial appearance in the Disney's Hollywood Studios parking area before spreading to other locations. The wardrobe change now extends to Magic Kingdom Park's Ticket & Transportation Center, EPCOT, and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park parking facilities.

The updated costume shirts feature a bright lime green color chosen for maximum visibility in parking lot environments. White Mickey globe icons appear on the garments, alongside transportation-themed imagery that draws from various Disney intellectual properties.

Vehicle references incorporated into the design include: a TRON Lightcycle / Run ride vehicle, Herbie from The Love Bug (1968), a car from the Tomorrowland Speedway, the titular character from Susie the Little Blue Coupe (1952), a Mr. Toad's Wild Ride attraction vehicle, Vanellope von Schweetz's Sugar Rush race car from Wreck-It Ralph (2012), a Kilimanjaro Safaris ride vehicle, and Cruella de Vil's Panther De Ville featured in the live-action 101 Dalmatians (1996).

Disney cast members pair the short-sleeved lime green tops with various navy blue bottom options, providing staff flexibility in selecting pants or shorts depending on their preference and the weather conditions.

Where Disney World Guests Will Encounter the New Parking Costumes

Disney Park visitors will observe cast members wearing these updated uniforms throughout parking lot operations. The high-visibility attire is worn by staff directing vehicle traffic through parking areas, collecting payment at entry booths, and operating trams that transport guests between parking sections and theme park entrances.

The rollout timeline for Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, and the ESPN Wide World of Sports remains uncertain. No confirmation has emerged about whether these facilities will adopt the same costume design or maintain separate attire for their parking operations.

Disney cast members typically do not perform parking guidance duties at Disney Springs or Disney Resort hotel properties, making costume changes unnecessary at those locations.

Walt Disney World Resort theme park parking carries tiered pricing based on vehicle type and parking location preferences. Standard car or motorcycle parking costs $35 per day. Oversized vehicle accommodations cost $40 per day. Preferred parking for standard vehicles ranges between $50 and $60 per day, with exact pricing fluctuating based on seasonal demand.

These fees apply to self-parking at Magic Kingdom Park's Ticket & Transportation Center, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels with valid reservations typically receive complimentary standard theme park parking as a benefit of their accommodation package.
