As Central Florida gears up for a new round of weather changes, guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort may soon notice impacts on water-park operations. Forecasts from Click Orlando highlight a weekend filled with showers, cooler air, and a developing system that could affect Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park in the days ahead.
The shift begins on Saturday, when scattered showers make their way across the region. By Sunday, those showers are expected to expand into widespread rain. Rain chances move steadily upward—from 30–50% Saturday afternoon to nearly 80% late Sunday—and while thunderstorms aren’t expected to be a major part of the forecast, a few isolated ones remain possible.
Following a warm spell in the low to mid-80s, temperatures will drop into the mid-70s by Sunday and slip further into the upper 60s and 70s early next week. Nighttime temperatures will cool as well.
According to Click Orlando, “a sloppy weather pattern settles in” between Saturday and Monday. A weak front lingering over North Florida is predicted to drift into Central Florida and fade with time. However, a new low-pressure system forming along the northern Gulf Coast on Sunday is likely to draw a stronger cold front into the region between late Sunday and Monday.
These shifts come just weeks after weather prompted operational adjustments at Walt Disney World. During Thanksgiving weekend, Typhoon Lagoon closed as temperatures dropped, showing how quickly decisions can be made when conditions affect guest comfort or safety.
With rainfall totals of 1–3 inches possible north and west of the I-4 corridor and the broader region preparing for substantial moisture, guests planning upcoming visits may want to stay alert. Typhoon Lagoon currently lists hours for next week, but rain, wind, and cooler temperatures can all influence whether the park operates as planned—or whether it’s a good day to enjoy the water. Disney has been known to modify its water-park schedules when the weather shifts suddenly.
Guests heading to Walt Disney World in the coming days may benefit from watching the forecast closely and checking Disney’s official calendar each morning. Keeping backup plans ready is always helpful when visiting during changing weather patterns.
