There are some Disney World construction updates that immediately tell you a project is nearing the finish line.
This certainly looks like one of them.
Guests visiting Disney’s BoardWalk can now see the permanent sign for Hurly-Burly glowing on the former Jellyrolls building. After weeks of exterior changes, the new marquee gives the location an unmistakable identity just before it welcomes its first guests.
Hurly-Burly officially opens October 1, 2026, meaning Disney has only a short amount of time remaining to put the final pieces into place.
From the waterfront, at least, the transformation is becoming difficult to miss.
The Former Jellyrolls Building Looks Very Different
The new Hurly-Burly marquee sits prominently on the building’s rounded corner.
Large illuminated letters display the venue’s name against a teal exterior, while red awnings have been added around the entrance and walk-up window.
It’s a colorful departure from what longtime BoardWalk visitors remember at this location.
The illuminated marquee should become particularly noticeable at night, which makes sense considering what Hurly-Burly will become later each evening.
Not everything is finished yet.
Construction barriers still line part of the promenade, and Disney continues covering the windows. Guests walking by therefore can’t get much of a preview of the interior.
However, the outside is quickly approaching its completed appearance.
With the permanent name now mounted on the building and the lights already switched on, the transition away from Jellyrolls feels much more complete.
Hurly-Burly Won’t Follow the Old Jellyrolls Formula
Replacing Jellyrolls was always going to attract attention.
The longtime dueling piano bar had become closely connected with Disney’s BoardWalk nightlife, giving adult guests a place to spend their evenings away from the theme parks.
Hurly-Burly will use the space differently.
Rather than waiting until nighttime to become active, the new venue will welcome families during the afternoon for trivia and games.
That means guests who may never have experienced the building during its Jellyrolls days will now have an opportunity to visit.
Then, at 9 p.m., the atmosphere changes.
Hurly-Burly will become a 21-and-over live music lounge for the remainder of the evening.
It creates an unusual combination for Disney World: one venue designed to serve families earlier in the day before becoming an adult nightlife destination later.
October 1 Marks the Beginning of Something New
The timing of the new marquee is important.
October 1 is getting close, and Disney appears to be entering the final stretch of preparations.
There could still be plenty happening inside the building that guests can’t see. The covered windows make that difficult to judge, while the remaining construction barriers show the project isn’t completely finished.
But outside, Hurly-Burly has clearly taken over.
The new teal facade has changed the look of the building. Red awnings now stand above its entrances, and the illuminated marquee announces the new venue to guests walking around the BoardWalk or looking across Crescent Lake.
Soon, the biggest remaining piece will be opening the doors.
Hurly-Burly is scheduled to do exactly that on October 1.
Families will get the first part of each day with games and trivia. Once 9 p.m. arrives, adults will take over as live music becomes the focus.
For guests who remember walking into Jellyrolls, the building may still look familiar in shape and location.
Everything else is changing.
And now that Hurly-Burly’s name is officially glowing above the entrance, Disney’s newest BoardWalk entertainment venue looks closer than ever to opening night.
