New ‘Stranger Things’ Chapter Coming This Month (This Is Not a Drill)

Even though the hit Netflix series Stranger Things recently ended with Season 5, the story isn’t done just yet. The finale left fans debating every twist and turn, and the conversations haven’t entirely quieted — although most of that stems from negative criticisms of “Chapter Eight: The Rightside Up” and the fifth season as a whole.

From petitions demanding an extended cut to countless online theories, it’s clear the Hawkins saga still holds a grip on viewers’ imaginations — even those it left disappointed.

But with the main series now over, the franchise is ready to branch out even more than it has done already with tie-in novels, comic books, and stage plays.

Later this year, Netflix will debut Tales From ’85, a 3D animated series revisiting Hawkins and the main character ensemble that's set between seasons 2 and 3. But before that, fans will get an immediate new experience with Dead by Daylight x Stranger Things Chapter 2, set to launch on January 27. Watch the official trailer for the game below:

This second Stranger Things DLC for the asymmetrical multiplayer game brings players back to the Upside Down, this time with Eleven, Dustin, Steve, Robin, Eddie, and Vecna.

Players can either take on the role of the formidable Upside Down dark wizard or fight to survive as one of Hawkins’ teens.

While it’s not part of the main Netflix series canonically, the game continues the story threads fans know and love, letting them explore the Upside Down in terrifying new ways.

The game’s website even features a live countdown timer teasing the DLC release—a small thrill that recalls the series’ penchant for suspense. Interestingly, it’s an official timer, separate from the fake ones that fans created online in the days after the Season 5 finale.

That brings us back to the infamous “Conformity Gate” theory. The so-called “fake ending” theory claimed that a secret Season 5 episode would appear on January 7, but nothing materialized. Fans tried to reinforce the theory with homemade countdowns and fake social media posts. Ultimately, it amounted to nothing and felt more like a hoax.

Now, for fans ready to return to Hawkins in an actual new chapter, the clock has been set.
