With Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 1 now streaming on Netflix, fans are diving into the latest chapter of Hawkins’ supernatural saga. The first four episodes continue the series’ signature mix of suspense, 1980s nostalgia, and otherworldly horror, setting the stage for the remaining three episodes, which are scheduled to stream on December 25, with the finale arriving December 31 (although availability will vary by region/time zone).
However, as the flagship series pushes toward its explosive finale, Netflix and the Duffer Brothers are expanding the Stranger Things universe with a new 3D animated spinoff. Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, set between seasons 2 and 3, will debut in 2026, exploring the earlier adventures of the show’s core group.
Now, Entertainment Weekly has shared three new images from the series. It follows the official teaser that dropped recently, which has commentary from series creators Matt and Ross Duffer and Tales From ’85 showrunner and executive producer Eric Robles.

One image shows Eleven using her powers with Mike in the background, another has Max and Lucas investigating a darkened area, and a third sees the full ensemble of kids venturing into a wintry, ominous woodland.
Tales From ’85 introduces a new voice cast for the characters fans know well. Brett Gipson voices Jim Hopper, Luca Diaz takes on Mike Wheeler, Brooklyn Davey Norstedt voices Eleven, Braxton Quinney plays Dustin Henderson, Elisha Williams is Lucas Sinclair, Ben Plessala portrays Will Byers, and Jolie Hoang-Rappaport voices Max Mayfield. Odessa A’zion, Janeane Garofalo, and Lou Diamond Phillips provide voices for undisclosed roles.

As Stranger Things continues to evolve beyond Netflix’s live-action series, the upcoming spinoff promises to fill in gaps in the timeline while expanding the franchise’s reach into other mediums. With Season 5 wrapping up and Tales From ’85 on the horizon, Hawkins is set to remain a center of supernatural intrigue for the next few years.
Stranger Things Season 5 stars Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Joe Keery (Steve Harrington), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Maya Hawke (Robin Buckley), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Brett Gelman (Murray Bauman), Nell Fisher (Holly Wheeler), Priah Ferguson (Erica Sinclair), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), Jamie Campbell Bower (Vecna/Henry Creel), Cara Buono (Karen Wheeler), and Linda Hamilton (Dr. Kay).
