Disney World has announced a significant refurbishment for Animal Kingdom Lodge. This refurbishment is set to unfold over several years and includes important upgrades aimed at preserving the charm and wonder of the lodge while introducing modern conveniences and amenities.
The renovation journey will commence in October 2025, focusing first on Kidani Village. This phase is expected to last through May 2026 before the refurbishment shifts to Jambo House, which will undergo enhancements until January 2027. This phased approach allows Disney to maintain the lodge’s operations while making necessary improvements.
While specific details regarding the renovations have yet to be disclosed, guests can anticipate an emphasis on modernizing the facilities and enhancing the overall ambiance of the resort. The goal is to marry the existing splendor of the lodge with contemporary updates that cater to the evolving preferences of travelers.
The first phase of the refurbishment will begin in October 2025, specifically targeting Kidani Village, one of the lodge’s core components. This work is anticipated to take about seven months, with completion expected by May 2026.
The scope of these renovations will likely focus on refreshing guest rooms, public spaces, and perhaps even some outdoor areas. The intention is to enhance both aesthetic appeal and functionality, ensuring that every guest feels comfortable and at home during their stay.
Guests staying at Kidani Village during this period may notice construction activity, as Disney has mentioned the likelihood of hearing or seeing work being done during daytime hours.
However, vital amenities such as pools, dining options, and recreational activities will remain open, allowing guests to enjoy their vacation with minimal disruptions.
Following the completion of renovations at Kidani Village, attention will turn to Jambo House. Renovations for this section of the lodge are scheduled to start in June 2026 and will continue through January 2027, ensuring that both parts of the lodge are revitalized in succession.
During the renovation of Jambo House, guests may again experience some construction-related disturbances. To keep the guest experience intact, Disney plans to maintain full access to major amenities.
