A new Jurassic movie appears to be heading into production, with UK industry listings referencing “the next Jurassic” as an upcoming tentpole set to begin filming in March.
The mention surfaced via Film Base, which tracks projects preparing to shoot across the UK. While Universal Pictures has yet to confirm anything publicly, the timing suggests the studio is wasting little time capitalizing on last year’s hit, Jurassic World Rebirth (2025).

A New Jurassic World Sequel or Something Else?
Rebirth was described by members of its cast and crew as a “standalone” story, but its $869.1 million global haul makes a follow-up hard to ignore. Jurassic World (2015) grossed $1.671 billion worldwide upon release. That success led to two direct sequels, animated shows, new theme park attractions, walkthrough experiences, and lots more.
Rebirth‘s director Gareth Edwards and stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey were previously reported to be in talks to return. Between that report and this new production listing, and not to mention the film's commercial success, it's fair to say that another sequel is inevitable.
If the new production notice refers to a direct sequel, the story could expand on the mysterious third island Ile Saint-Hubert introduced in Rebirth. Or, it could finally bring in the long-gestated human-dinosaur hybrid concept originally proposed for Jurassic Park 4.
While this report is best taken with a pinch of salt given the studio's lack of involvement, seeing as the previous film was fast-tracked from announcement to theatrical release in under 18 months, an official reveal is likely imminent.
