Paramount Shuts Down Hopes for ‘Landman’ Season 3 Release in 2026

The wait for Landman Season 3 just became considerably longer.

After months of speculation about whether Paramount+ could bring its hit drama back before the end of 2026, the latest production timeline has effectively answered that question.

It isn't happening.

Landman remains renewed for Season 3, so fans don't need to worry about the series disappearing altogether. However, anyone holding out hope for new episodes this fall will have to turn their attention toward 2027.

Season 3 Hasn't Even Started Filming Yet

The biggest problem for a 2026 premiere comes down to production.

Season 2 wrapped up its run in January 2026. With another season already on the way, November emerged as a reasonable potential return window based on the show's previous schedule.

But Season 3 has encountered repeated production delays.

Filming is now scheduled to begin in September 2026, leaving only a few months before the end of the year.

Even that doesn't fully explain the length of the wait.

James Jordan, who portrays Dale, indicated that production could continue through the first quarter of 2027. Taylor Sheridan was also still writing Season 3 as the new production window approached.

With cameras potentially rolling into early next year, a 2026 premiere has essentially become impossible.

When Will Landman Actually Return?

Paramount+ hasn't announced an official release date, which means fans shouldn't circle a particular day on their 2027 calendars just yet.

Based on the current production schedule, however, mid-to-late 2027 appears to be the most realistic expectation.

If the series returns around that time, fans could end up waiting close to an additional year compared with the November 2026 release many had hoped would happen.

It's disappointing news for a series that quickly became one of Paramount+'s biggest streaming successes.

Still, this is a delay rather than the end of Landman.

Paramount+ officially renewed Season 3 in December 2025 after Season 2 delivered a strong performance. The next chapter is coming.

The only problem is that Tommy Norris won't be back on our screens in 2026—and fans could have a very long wait ahead.

Andrew Boardwine

A frequent visitor of Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, Andrew will likely be found freefalling on Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or enjoying Pirates of the Caribbean. Over at Universal, he'll be taking in the thrills of the Jurassic World Velocicoaster and Revenge of the Mummy
