Pedro Pascal Acts Quickly To Protect Co-Star at Movie Premiere

The Cannes Film Festival’s red-carpet is usually a place for fashion statements and flashing cameras—but this time, a small unexpected bee managed to steal the spotlight, causing a moment of chaos during the Eddington (2025) premiere.

Emma Stone, 36, was clearly caught off guard while posing for photos with her co-stars Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) and Austin Butler (Elvis), as suddenly jumped back when she was startled by a buzzing insect that disrupted the otherwise smooth proceedings.

Fortunately, Butler, 33, attempted to blow the bee away, while Pascal, 50, reached out to swat at the buzzing insect, shielding Stone (Cruella) from any potential harm.

The short clip was shared by Variety on X (formerly Twitter).

Eddington itself promises more intense drama. Helmed by Ari Aster (Hereditary, Midsommar) and featuring powerhouse performances from Joaquin Phoenix (Joker) and Pascal, it takes place in modern-day western town and revolves around the simmering conflict between a sheriff and a mayor, played by Phoenix and Pascal, respectively.

Pascal’s busy summer continues with his role as Dr. Reed Richards AKA Mister Fantastic in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025), alongside a new ensemble cast that includes Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning) as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn (A Quiet Place: Day One) as Johnny Storm / Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach (No Hard Feelings) as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Julia Garner (Wolf Man) as Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer..

Stone, meanwhile, holds a nostalgic place in the Marvel universe, having played Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man films from 2012—2014, opposite Andrew Garfield.
