The new Percy Jackson series coming to Disney+ has been long-awaited by fans of the Rick Riordan book series who disliked the movie adaptations and wanted a remake (including the author Rick Riordan himself), and now we finally know who is playing the iconic trio from the Percy Jackson books!
In the Percy Jackson novels (which follow the adventures of demigods, aka children who have one mortal parent and one Greek god parent), Percy is the son of Poseidon who befriends a satyr named Grover and a demigod named Annabeth (who is the daughter of Athena). The trio join other demi-gods and mythological creatures at Camp Half-Blood in between their quests and their efforts to protect Olympus.
The actor playing Percy Jackson in the new series — who is replacing Logan Lerman, the actor who played Percy in the poorly-received films — has already been announced: it’s Walker Scobell, who has only just garnered recognition for his lead role in The Adam Project opposite Ryan Reynolds.
