Recently, there have been numerous rumors about the future of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and what it might look like if Johnny Depp doesn’t return to play Captain Jack Sparrow again. Amid these conversations, quotes from Keira Knightley resurfaced, showing exactly what the actress thinks about the legendary actor. In the interview, she shared that she found Johnny Depp to be “lovely.”

“I loved it. I loved it,” she said. “He’s one of the only actors around at the moment who will take those huge risks, and it was a risk. He’s got the balls to play a part like that, and I think that’s brilliant. Certainly, as sort of a young actress, it was great to see somebody doing it. You know? And not being afraid to do it. I really admired him for that. Also, it was so kind of spontaneous, and it made us all giggle. It put a really kind of fun atmosphere around the whole time.”

There have been numerous rumors about the future of Pirates of the Caribbean 6. Some insiders have said that Disney wants Depp to return, but only for a cameo role. We haven’t heard anything official from the company in several months. Former Disney Exec. Sean Bailey shared in an interview back in 2023 that the company was “noncommittal” on the return of Johnny Depp, and Executive Producer Jerry Bruckheimer unveiled that there were two scripts, neither of which involved Depp.
