There’s perhaps nothing more exciting than knowing that a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida is on the horizon! Whether you’re visiting for the first time or the fiftieth time, the magic of Disney takes over, and even as adults, we can hardly conceal our excitement! But because there are so many options in how to experience that magic, a little planning can go a long way in ensuring you and your family have the best experience possible! Not sure where to start? Here’s how to plan your trip in six easy steps.
1. Download the MyDisneyExperience app.
Disney sure knew what they were doing when they created this app! It was made with the busy Disney World fan in mind. No one has time to create lists, make multiple phone calls and find the answers to all their travel questions online—although Disney World’s website leaves no stone unturned. Enter the My Disney Experienceapp—your one-stop shop for all things Disney trip planning. It’s free to download and free to use. The app allows you to make advance dining reservations, check park hours, access maps of the parks and more. Don’t start planning without it.
2. Book your Disney World Resort hotel.
You can do this up to 499 days in advance of your trip to the parks. There are over 25 different resort hotels from which to choose—and you can’t go wrong no matter which one you pick. But you’ll go wrong by not reserving your hotel early. This is especially true if you’ll be visiting the parks during one of Disney’s peak seasons.
3. Make your dining reservations.
Dining reservations are just as important as resort hotel reservations. There are so many table-service restaurants at Disney World, that it will take you multiple visits over a long period of time to try each of them. But if there are restaurants or character dining experiences you have your heart set on, it’s imperative to make those reservations in advance. You can do so up to 180 days in advance of your trip via the My Disney Experienceapp or by calling (407) WDW-DINE.
