Did you love Raya and the Last Dragon when the film was released on Disney+ earlier this year? Fans of the film have been hoping to see characters from the film in Disney parks since its debut, but we have not had a chance to see these characters in person, until now.

There is no sign of Raya showing up at Disneyland or Walt Disney World, at least for now, but we are thrilled to share that she recently started meeting Guests at Shanghai Disneyland!

Raya is now  meeting Guests in Shanghai Disneyland’s Adventure Isle. If you are not as familiar with Shanghai Disneyland, the land is sort of similar to the Magic Kingdom or Disneyland’s Adventureland but with a slightly deeper backstory and more of a focus on fantasy. In addition to Raya, the land is home to characters from The Jungle Book, The Lion King, and Zootopia.

Shanghai Disney Resort is still operating with some health and safety guidelines in place, so while things are beginning to look closer to normal there it is worth noting that this meet and greet and others around the park are still distanced for the time being.

Characters are Shanghai Disney Resort are easier to “meet” than characters at Walt Disney World currently, with select character selfie spots noted on the park’s website, maps, and in certain  areas throughout the property. If you are able to visit Shanghai before restrictions fully lift, remember that not all of the characters are listed online during this time and they are still subject to change.

While we do not have any news of characters from Raya and the Last Dragon meeting Guests stateside, we are hopeful that this is something we might see in the future. In the meantime, remember you can always journey to the world of Kumandra and take in Raya and the Last Dragon from the comfort of home via Disney+.

About Raya and the Last Dragon (courtesy Walt Disney Animation Studios):

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Raya and the Last Dragon travels to the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together in harmony long ago. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well. Raya and the Last Dragon features the voices of Kelly Marie Tran as Raya, a warrior whose wit is as sharp as her blade, and Awkwafina as the magical, mythical, self-deprecating dragon named Sisu. Characters also include a street-savvy 10-year-old entrepreneur named Boun, the formidable giant Tong and a thieving toddler Noi with her band of Ongis.
