Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has officially lifted restrictions for guests at BouTiki, the Deluxe Disney Resort hotel’s largest merchandise location. This update comes a month after construction began, blocking guest access to half of the store.
Located on the first floor of the Great Ceremonial House, BouTiki offers tropical-themed attire, resort-branded souvenirs, and exclusive Aulani merchandise. The merchandise location had been partially closed for a month while it underwent a mysterious refurbishment project. During that time, only half of the store remained open, with a limited selection of merchandise available.

On July 1, 2025, BouTiki fully reopened, with the closed portion now available to guests and the merchandise selection returned to normal. While Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t officially disclosed the full scope of the renovation, reports from WDWMagic indicate that the work focused on replacing the floor throughout the store.
The new flooring features refreshed patterned tiles and wooden accents, matching the overhaul aesthetic of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. With the refurbishment complete, it’s unlikely Walt Disney World Resort will need to shut down the store again in the near future.
In addition to BouTiki, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort guests can also visit Moana Mercantile on the second floor of the Great Ceremonial House. This smaller shop offers some of the same clothing and Aulani-inspired merchandise, but it also focuses on offering pre-packaged snacks and kid-friendly items, such as plush toys and accessories.
Before booking a stay at any Disney Resort hotel, including Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, guests should check the Walt Disney World Resort website for any updates on construction or other potential disruptions to the resort experience. Although Disney cast members strive to minimize disruptions, construction projects can sometimes affect operations.
