What started as an exciting registration day turned into a long waiting game for Disney runners.
Earlier this week, fans hoping to participate in the 2027 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend logged on expecting registration to open as planned. Instead, they were met with delays, uncertainty, and plenty of unanswered questions.
For several hours, runners waited for news while social media filled with speculation about what had happened.

Now, the waiting is over.
runDisney has officially announced that registration for the 2027 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend will open on Monday, June 8, at 10 a.m. Eastern.
The announcement comes after the organization confirmed that registration would not take place during its originally scheduled window. Disney later assured runners that at least 24 hours notice would be provided before a new registration date was selected.
That promise has now been fulfilled.
The timing is important because Princess Weekend is consistently one of runDisney's most competitive events. Every year, thousands of participants attempt to register for races that feature Disney storytelling, character appearances, themed entertainment, and exclusive medals.
For many runners, these races are annual traditions.
The 2027 weekend will take place from February 25 through March 1 at Walt Disney World Resort.

Participants will once again have several race options. The weekend starts with the Disney Princess 5K before moving into the Disney Princess 10K. The Half Marathon remains the featured event, while the Fairy Tale Challenge allows runners to complete both the 10K and Half Marathon during the same weekend.
Disney Princess Yoga will close out the festivities.
Each race celebrates a different Disney Princess, helping create a unique identity for every event. That themed approach has helped make Princess Weekend one of the most recognizable race weekends in the runDisney lineup.
The registration delay may have been frustrating, but it has not reduced enthusiasm for the event. If anything, the additional attention could result in even heavier demand when registration finally opens.
Veteran participants know that preparation matters. Having account information updated and being ready before the registration window opens can make a big difference when thousands of runners attempt to register simultaneously.

For now, runners can finally stop refreshing social media feeds and wondering when registration will happen.
June 8 is officially the new target date, and all eyes will be on runDisney once registration opens. After a week of unexpected complications, Princess Half Marathon Weekend is finally moving forward.
