SeaWorld Orlando recently issued an operational update ahead of Hurricane Milton, which is expected to make landfall on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
SeaWorld Orlando's Response to Hurricane Milton

SeaWorld Orlando informed guests that the theme parks would remain open during the storm, although this decision remains contingent on weather conditions. The park has a long-standing commitment to providing entertainment, even under adverse weather situations.
The Central Florida theme park's website features a weather information page, where they state:
“SeaWorld Orlando usually remains open even when the weather isn’t cooperating, and we have lots of awesome ways for you and your family to have fun while it passes. Still, you never know when thunder and lightning, hail, or even a hurricane might unexpectedly land and ruin your good time. But don’t worry. That’s when our Weather-or-Not Assurance steps in to provide you with a return visit on us!”
Refund Policy During Hurricane Disruptions

According to SeaWorld Orlando's posted policy, guests affected by the hurricane would not be eligible for refunds. The park emphasizes its Weather-or-Not Assurance program, which allows guests to return to the park at a later date if certain conditions are met. These include an early theme park closure, over 60 minutes of weather-related ride downtime, or a heat index over 110.
State of Emergency in Florida

As Hurricane Milton intensified, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency across 51 counties, which included Orange County, home to SeaWorld Orlando, Walt Disney World Resort, and Universal Orlando Resort. The hurricane rapidly upgraded from a tropical storm to Category 5 winds from Saturday to Monday.
Local authorities suspended road tolls across the state, particularly in areas designated for mandatory evacuations. The suspension began on Monday at 10:30 a.m. and is scheduled to last seven days.
