shopDisney Update: Figment Golden Statue Now Available (for Less Than Resold Popcorn Buckets!)

Hoping to come across a Figment popcorn bucket? If you can’t make it to Walt Disney World before the end of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, and you do not want to pay a reseller upwards of $200 to get your hands on one from eBay, we may have found an alternative Figment souvenir on shopDisney!

Throughout the 50th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World, shopDisney is releasing replicas of statues from the Fab 50 Character Collection that Guests can see in the parks. The latest statue to join the collection is Figment, himself.

This unique keepsake takes its cues from the full-sized version at EPCOT, offering a fully sculpted replica golden figure positioned on a sturdy base. The statue was created especially for “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” and like the full-sized version at the park, it offers a beautiful glossy navy base, golden finish, and golden accents, to bring everyone’s favorite Disney dragon to life.

While on the pricier side for a shopDisney souvenir, the statue is actually a deal compared to the Figment popcorn buckets that took the internet by storm earlier this year. As of this writing, the Figment popcorn buckets are still popping up on eBay, with prices varying from starting bids of about $85 to Buy It Now prices upwards of $200. When the buckets first made their way to the online auction site thanks to the disappointing practice of in-park reselling, average prices were often close to and sometimes exceeding $250 per bucket!

The golden Figment character statue on shopDisney is priced at $99.99, still making it a higher-end collectible item, but if you are looking for something new to add to your Figment collection, you may feel better purchasing a special 50th-anniversary item direct from Disney than a park souvenir from a reseller, and chances are your wallet will thank you, too.

Other character statues are set for release throughout the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World, with Tinker Bell and Simba, among others, already being available for purchase in addition to Figment.
