1 Week Trip Plan for Families at Walt Disney World

Nemo Show

Day 2: Animal Kingdom

All EMH’s being equal, it might be nice for families to start out with a smaller park. You can cover all of Animal Kingdom in one day at a leisurely pace and not be worn out the next day. Some family highlights to check off in Animal Kingdom include: Kilimanjaro Safari, The Boneyard, Kali River Rapids (only a 38” height restriction), Festival of the Lion King, the Nemo show, Flights of Wonder, and all the animal exhibits. Don’t forget to sign up for Wilderness Explorers as soon as you see the big tree, and leave time for exclusive character greetings like Pocahontas, Rafiki, Flik, and Dug and Russell. Plus, in the coming weeks, you’ll be able to add the nighttime attractions like Rivers of Light to your list. If you’re planning to do a character meal, you may want to check out Tusker House, but if you opt for counter service you’ll have plenty of delicious options as well.
