Disney Springs is doing that thing again, where you go in for a snack and leave with a shopping bag.
Anybody who spends weekends at Disney Springs knows the drill by now. You never really know what you are walking into. One Saturday, there is a surprise merchandise drop. Next, it is a live band setup near the water, with a crowd three deep. The weekend after that, a food cart shows up in a spot that was empty seven days earlier, slinging something you have to try before it disappears.
No ticket, no reservation, no plan required. That is the appeal, and it is why locals keep the place in heavy rotation.
This weekend, the thing everybody is lining up for is not food. It is a fragrance.
The Pop-Up
Sol de Janeiro, the Brazilian-inspired beauty brand that has gone viral more times than anyone can count, has taken over a space in Town Center at Disney Springs.
You will find it directly across from Sephora, and you will not need help spotting it. The whole exterior is done up in bright orange and white with Sol de Janeiro branding wrapped around it. There are stanchions set up outside, and there has been a long line of guests waiting to get in.
Fair warning for anyone planning to hit both stops: Sephora has had a line outside, too. Stack those two together, and you are looking at a real chunk of your afternoon. Sephora runs until 11:30 p.m. Saturday, so there is room to work around it if the pop-up crowd is thick when you arrive.
Orange or Lime garage gets you closest.
The Deadline
Here is the part that will decide your weekend.
The event runs July 23 through July 26, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. That is four days total, and two of them are already off the board.
No extension has been announced. Disney Springs pop-ups typically close on the exact day they say they will, so treat Sunday as the hard stop.
Go earlier if you can swing it. Town Center gets packed once the dinner crowd rolls in.
What Is Actually Inside
Not just shelves and a checkout counter.
The pop-up has fragrance sampling, photo opportunities, games, and gifts with purchase.
The sampling is the headline. Sol de Janeiro's scents are what launched the brand into orbit online, and there is a real difference between reading a product description and actually smelling the thing. The gift-with-purchase promotion moves inventory quickly, so if there is a specific item you want, earlier in the weekend is safer than later.
Who Sol de Janeiro Is, For the Uninitiated
The name comes from the “Sun of January,” the moment the sun hits its highest point during Brazilian summers. The brand's stated goal is delivering that peak summer feeling to everyone, anytime, anywhere.
The whole identity traces back to Rio de Janeiro. In the brand's own words, in Brazil, beautiful is not a standard but an attitude, and the confidence comes from feeling good in your own skin. Sol de Janeiro says it embraces every body, every curve, and every truth, with self-celebration and joy driving the work.
Warm sand, sun on your skin, late July in Florida. The timing writes itself.
The Sephora Connection
Putting this across from Sephora was a deliberate call.
Sephora at Disney Springs bills itself as the world's leading beauty retailer, carrying hundreds of prestige makeup, fragrance, hair, nail, and skincare products, from the long-standing classics to whatever is breaking out this month.
The location also runs an in-store Beauty Studio with complimentary classes, skincare services, makeovers, and advice from consultants. So if the pop-up gets you going, everything else is a few steps away.
Last Call
Disney Springs rewards people who show up and wander. This one comes with a clock on it.
Sol de Janeiro closes out July 26, and the crowd out front says plenty of people already have it on the list. If you were heading over anyway, it is an easy detour through Town Center. If you were on the fence about the trip entirely, this is the kind of thing that vanishes before you get another crack at it.
