Disneyland Employee Reportedly Drives Truck Into Theme Park Ride

According to eyewitnesses, a truck recently crashed into one of Disneyland Resort’s rides. Reports claim that a box truck or similar vehicle struck the entrance to Star Tours – The Adventures Continue at Disneyland Park, resulting in noticeable damage to the attraction’s exterior. Multiple theme park guests and Disney cast members shared their accounts of the accident on social media, offering details about the event.

Star Tours was one of The Walt Disney Company’s earliest collaborations with George Lucas, long before the company acquired Lucasfilm. The ride, which debuted at Disneyland in 1987, became so popular that it was replicated at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris in the following years. In the early 2010s, all versions of the attraction were updated to Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, integrating characters from all nine Skywalker saga films, allowing fans to experience new adventures in a galaxy far, far away.

Nearly 40 years later, Star Tours is still a favorite at Disneyland Resort, drawing large crowds of guests each day. However, a recent update on Reddit caught the attention of Disney Parks fans, showing a large dent on the entrance of the attraction. Redditor u/TheDisneyScoopGuy shared an image on Saturday, with the caption, “At some point something crashed into the Star Tours sign at Disneyland.”

The Disney Parks fan community quickly began speculating about the cause of the damage. Some fans believed that a truck or construction lift, both of which are commonly used by cast members for maintenance and other tasks, may have collided with the Star Tours building.

“I’ve seen trucks hit stuff left and right late at night. Especially guys who aren’t used to driving through the park,” u/NCreature wrote. “I remember one night when a Coca Cola truck took out the string lights at DCA on the pier. Was a hell of a show.”

Other users chimed in with similar theories, suggesting construction equipment might have been involved.

“Lol someone on some sort of lift got too close,” said u/Clear-Ad-7250. “I’d guess a scissor lift.”

One Redditor, u/ston3dguy, claimed to have been a cast member present when the incident occurred. They confirmed that it was indeed a Disneyland Resort box truck that caused the damage.

“I was there the night it got hit,” u/ston3dguy commented. “It was a Disney box truck. You’ll sometimes see them on the road in Anaheim. They’re all white and have ‘Disneyland Resort’ on the doors.”

Despite the multiple accounts from Disney cast members and guests, Disneyland Resort has yet to officially confirm the details of the incident or provide a timeline for repairs. The attraction is currently closed for refurbishment, so the necessary repairs may be made while the ride is down.
