It was a short run, even by limited-time standards. Just one week after arriving, Ahsoka Tano has left one Disney park.
Character meet-and-greets have shifted significantly over the past few years. Gone are the fixed schedules and static backdrops that once defined them. In their place, Disney has introduced a more spontaneous, in-universe model—particularly in Galaxy’s Edge, where guests never quite know who might appear. Walkaround moments with characters like The Mandalorian or Kylo Ren have become the new norm in the U.S. parks.
But Disneyland Paris, which lacks a Galaxy’s Edge land, takes a different approach—one where every character addition or removal is much more visible.
Ahsoka’s Brief Return
Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker’s former Padawan and a central figure in both The Clone Wars and her own live-action series Ahsoka, arrived at Disneyland Paris on May 4—Star Wars Day. The park confirmed that her appearance would be temporary, and on May 11, she made her final appearance, as expected.

During her short run, Ahsoka alternated appearances with The Mandalorian and Grogu. Whether she’ll return for future seasonal events remains unclear.
The reaction from fans was swift but understanding—many took to social media to share photos from the encounter, celebrating the rare opportunity. Still, her departure serves as a reminder that Star Wars character experiences at Disneyland Paris remain sporadic, and their future somewhat unclear.
The State of Star Wars at Disneyland Paris
Despite the absence of a dedicated Star Wars land, Discoveryland continues to offer themed attractions. Star Wars: Hyperspace Mountain turns the classic coaster into an intergalactic adventure, while Star Tours – The Adventures Continue provides randomized storylines featuring destinations and characters from across the franchise.
Character encounters are held at Starport, where guests can meet Darth Vader, Chewbacca, or Rey. For now, roaming BDX droids add a bit of interactivity to the area, though they’re scheduled to disappear later this month. Merchandise remains abundant, with Star Traders offering everything from toys to collectibles.
Years ago, Disney announced plans to bring Galaxy’s Edge to Walt Disney Studios Park (now transitioning to Disney Adventure World). Those plans have since gone quiet. The land initially slated for Star Wars now appears destined for a new Lion King-themed area, with no official update offered by Disney. Rumors have circulated about Galaxy’s Edge potentially shifting to Disneyland Park instead, but nothing concrete has emerged.
Considering how long it’s been since Disneyland Park received a new ride in Paris, the expansion would likely be an extremely welcome addition. However, with the park once again left out of new ride announcements at last year’s D23, we won’t hold our breath.
Do you think Paris deserves more Star Wars?
