Disneyland Paris To Get ‘Star Wars’ Experience “for First Time Ever”

A legendary celebration is coming to a galaxy not so far away—and it’s making history at Disneyland Paris.

In early May, the Force will awaken at Disneyland Park with a first-of-its-kind experience honoring “May the Fourth,” the fan-favorite Star Wars Day. For the first time ever, guests will be able to meet the iconic Ahsoka Tano, along with other well-known characters from the Star Wars universe.

According to the official Disneyland Paris website, “For the first time, Ahsoka is visiting Disneyland Park from May 4 to May 11. While exploring, you may occasionally encounter fan favorites such as Chewbacca, Darth Vader and Din Djarin – also known also the Mandalorian – and Grogu. If you are looking to take a walk on the dark side, Kylo Ren and Stormtroopers can also be found roaming around Discoveryland.”

Ahsoka’s arrival marks a milestone moment for the resort. First introduced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Ahsoka was the Padawan of Anakin Skywalker and has gone on to appear in Star Wars Rebels, as well as debuting in live-action in The Mandalorian, portrayed by Rosario Dawson. Her legacy stretches across generations—and now, for a limited time, across Discoveryland.

But that’s not all. From May 4 through May 24, younger guests can tap into the energy of the Jedi through a walk-up lightsaber training experience. “From May 4 to May 24 at Disneyland Paris, you can master the art of lightsaber wielding during a new walk-up interactive experience in Discoveryland!” the resort shared. “This hands-on moment – recommended for children under 10 – will reveal the ways of the Force, thanks to the knowledge of the Saja.”

These galactic festivities are just one part of a bigger story unfolding at Disneyland Paris. The resort’s second gate, Walt Disney Studios Park, is undergoing a grand transformation and will soon be known as Disney Adventure World. This new identity will officially launch in 2026, with the long-awaited debut of World of Frozen—a fully immersive land bringing Arendelle to life like never before.

Guests won’t have to wait until 2026 to see what’s next, though. On May 15, 2025, the resort will welcome World Premiere and World Premiere Plaza, part of the same expansion project first unveiled by Disney CEO Bob Iger in 2018. This massive €2 billion investment has already brought the stunning Avengers Campus to life and is preparing the stage for even more beloved franchises to take center stage.

One such addition is a new land inspired by The Lion King, which will bring the grandeur of Pride Rock into the heart of Disney Adventure World. While early plans had once hinted at a Star Wars-themed land in Paris—possibly in the style of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in the U.S.—the latest updates do not include it.

Still, Star Wars fans can celebrate knowing that while the stars may not align for a permanent land just yet, unforgettable memories await during this year’s Star Wars Day celebrations. And beyond Paris, the festivities will extend across Disney Parks worldwide. Walt Disney World Resort, for example, will roll out themed merchandise and galactic treats at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, along with the return of a virtual queue system for shopping.

Whether you’re meeting heroes from the Star Wars saga, training like a youngling, or exploring the ever-expanding world of Disneyland Paris, this is a season of transformation, celebration, and story.

Thomas Hitchen

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
