Stuck at Home?  11 Ways to Bring the Disney Magic to You

Mickey Mouse

We’re living in an unprecedented time right now, and many of us are missing Walt Disney World more than ever before.  Most of us are staying home for an undetermined amount of time, and very possibly feeling like Rapunzel in Mother Gothel’s tower (in the kingdom of Corona, no less).  If you’re in need of cheering up and want to bring a little Disney magic into your home, here are some suggestions!

Disney movies

If you haven’t jumped on the DIsney+ bandwagon, now may be the time to do it.  For only $7 a month (or the better deal: $70 for the entire year), you’ll have access to an epic collection of Disney movies, shows, documentaries, and more.  Don’t forget that Marvel and Star Wars also fall under the Disney umbrella, so you’ll be sure to find a ton of choices for everyone in your family. Take some time to find out what all the “baby Yoda” buzz is about and don’t miss the Mickey Mouse cartoon, “Potatoland”.

Disney Parks Footage

If you’re really missing the parks, be sure to check out series like “The Imagineering Story” on Disney+  if you’re a subscriber. This is a great time to brush up on your park history! Another fun way to “visit” the parks virtually is to hop on YouTube (totally free!) and enjoy some first-person POV attraction videos or virtual park tours.  Want a bird’s eye view? Use Google Earth and have fun exploring the parks- you can even zoom in on your favorite rides!

Disney Dining

Do you have some Disney mugs or other dishes you’ve picked up in your travels?  Now’s the time to use them! I have a Mickey casserole dish that doesn’t always see regular use, but right now I’m using it frequently and making “Mickey meatloaf” for the family.  Making pancakes in the morning? Try to make them Mickey shaped (with or without a mold). Are you a budding home chef? Search the internet for Disney restaurant recipes to try! Ohana bread pudding, anyone?

Magical Scents

There are a few companies out there that specialize in magical “Disney-inspired” scents.  A home-bound day is made more magical with the scent of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride!  A quick internet search will lead you to candles, room sprays, and oils that you can diffuse based on many of your favorite Disney attractions and locations.   You’ll even find scents that recreate the ones you’ll notice in Disney resort lobbies!
