‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ First Official Teaser Revealed

For years, Supergirl has struggled to break through. The 1984 movie starring Helen Slater flopped. Her CBS-turned-The CW series found its footing but never escaped the shadow of shows like Smallville. And in the DCEU’s The Flash (2023), Sasha Calle’s portrayal was done dirty—introduced only to never be seen again, thanks to the now-rebooted DCU.

Despite comic books, movies, and television shows that collectively span several decades, Kara Zor-El has in more recent years felt like an afterthought. But that’s about to change.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (2026) Teaser

With James Gunn’s Superman (2025) now in theaters, audiences have already been introduced to a very different version of Kara.

Played by House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock, Supergirl arrives just before the end credits to pick up her dog Krypto from Superman’s Fortress of Solitude. The catch? She’s absolutely hammered.

That’s right—it seems this new version of Kara is a party girl, who, as revealed by Superman (David Corenswet), parties on “planets with red suns” as they make her drunk.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow – What We Know

While it’s nothing more than a “fly-in” cameo, the character will return in her own film next year with Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (2026).

Directed by Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya) and scheduled for theatrical release on June 26, 2026, it will be the second theatrical entry in the new DCU, which is being overseen by DC Studios’ co-chairmen and co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran.

Other planned projects include a Batman reboot titled The Brave and the Bold, which, like Superman (2025), will see a new actor step into the title role.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow flies into theaters in summer 2026.
