The 10 Biggest News Stories from Walt Disney World for 2018

8. New restaurants at Disney Springs are opening

If it’s great food and a fun atmosphere you’re looking for at Disney, look no further than Disney Springs. It’s always been the place to be, whether for families, couples, singles—anyone and everyone! And this year, they will up the ante with lots of bold, fun and “happening” eateries and restaurants that will have you wanting to come back tomorrow night too. The Edison opens this year with a setting like that of a 1920s-era electric company power plant. If Italian food is among your favorites, you’ll want to try Terralina Crafted Italian—a restaurant with an Italian home theme, serving Italian favorites and cocktails, or for a more casual atmosphere—Pizza Pointe, a fast and friendly restaurant serving everything from stuffed pizza to pastries. Jaleo also opens later this year, and if it’s a Spanish flair you enjoy, Jaleo’s the restaurant for you!

I am a writer and a Mom to four children and two baby shih-tzus. My first experience with the Magic was in 1988, when my parents surprised my brother and me with a visit to Walt Disney World after a short trip to see friends in Georgia. I still hum the tune played during the Main Street Electrical Parade and remember the feeling of excitement from my very first visit. I introduced my husband to the Magic several years ago, and we take our children to the parks every time we can. No matter how many times I visit Walt Disney World, it seems it’s not enough! The ever-changing experience only gets better with each trip, and I’m thrilled to share the Magic with others, as well as some of the tips and tricks to getting the most out of the Magic with each visit!
