As the reopening of the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts continues, we are excited to share some transportation news for Disney fans on the West Coast! The Disneyland Monorail will be returning to its daily operation beginning tomorrow, Friday, October 15, 2021!
The Disneyland Monorail was the first daily operating monorail to launch in the Western Hemisphere. The monorail has been operating daily since it debuted during the first major expansion of Disneyland Park in 1959!
As one of the most classic Disneyland attractions, the Disneyland Monorail fulfills the logistical need of helping Guests get around, but it also provides a unique view of areas of Tomorrowland and Fantasyland in Disneyland and Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure. Beginning tomorrow, Guests will once again be able to board the Disneyland Monorail from stations in the Downtown Disney District or in Tomorrowland.
For Guests staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel, taking the monorail offers a unique way to skip the park’s main entrance and arrive in Tomorrowland (just be sure you have valid theme park admission and a park reservation made before getting on board!)
More information on the current operation of the Disneyland Monorail system will be available on the Disneyland app and disneyland.com. We always recommend confirming operating hours and other details ahead of your visit, and you will be able to find all of this information and more on either of those resources.
In accordance with health and safety regulations at the Disneyland Resort and in Orange County, masks are required on the Disneyland Monorail as well as any other indoor public areas at the resort.
We hope you enjoy your next visit to Disneyland and have a blast arriving to the park in style aboard the Disneyland Monorail! Check back here for any additional updates on the reopening of the Disneyland Resort.
