The Disneyland Restaurant Announcement Everyone’s Been Waiting For Just Dropped

After what felt like forever, Napa Rose at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa in Disneyland finally has a concrete reopening date, and it's arriving way faster than anyone expected. The beloved fine dining restaurant reopens February 6, 2026, with reservations opening January 27, 2026, starting at 9 a.m. PST. If you've been missing this restaurant since it closed for renovations, you need to mark your calendar right now because those reservations are going to disappear immediately.

What Actually Changed at Disneyland

Napa Rose underwent an extensive transformation that Disney is calling a reimagining, which could mean anything from minor cosmetic updates to complete overhauls. Based on what's been announced, it looks like they enhanced the restaurant's strengths while adding new dining formats that make it more accessible for different occasions.

The biggest change is that Napa Rose now offers multiple distinct dining experiences under one roof instead of just the traditional fine dining format. There's a newly redesigned bar and lounge serving crafted cocktails and luxurious small bites available à la carte. This space features cozy seating, a new bar, and a fireplace creating relaxed vibes. The bar and lounge extend outdoors to a renovated patio for alfresco dining inspired by California wine country.

Here's what makes the bar and lounge different: walk-ins are welcome and you don't need reservations. Obviously availability isn't guaranteed during busy periods, but at least you have the option to just show up instead of planning everything 60 days in advance.

The Main Dining Room and Chef's Counter

The main dining room is debuting a seasonal prix fixe menu with optional custom wine pairings designed to complement each multi-course experience. Families get a newly enhanced children's menu for guests ages 9 and under, which is helpful because bringing kids to fine dining restaurants can be tricky when there aren't appropriate menu options.

You can choose indoor seating surrounded by Napa Rose's legendary 1,500-label wine collection or outdoor seating on the expanded terrace. The wine collection has always been one of Napa Rose's biggest draws for serious wine enthusiasts, so maintaining that 1,500-label inventory shows Disney understands what made the restaurant special.

The Chef's Counter seats up to 18 guests with direct views of the exhibition kitchen where chefs personalize each course based on seasonality and creative inspiration. This is the premium experience for people who want to watch their food being prepared and interact with the chefs. For the first time ever, you can book Chef's Counter reservations online through NapaRose.com instead of having to call. That's a genuine improvement because phone reservations are annoying and booking online is way more convenient.

There's also a newly renovated private dining room that accommodates up to 16 guests for special occasions. You have to contact the restaurant directly to book that space.

The Disneyland Team and the Menu

Chef Andrew Sutton has been with Napa Rose since it opened in 2001, which means he understands the restaurant's identity and legacy better than anyone. He collaborated with Executive Chef Clint Chin to develop menus highlighting seasonal California ingredients while incorporating global flavors and techniques.

Executive Pastry Chef Jorge Sotelo and Pastry Chef Nubia Renteria lead the dessert program with over 25 years of experience each at Disneyland Resort. That kind of institutional knowledge matters when you're trying to maintain consistency and quality.

Menu highlights include Beef Tartare topped with Osetra caviar in the bar and lounge, which is exactly the kind of luxurious small bite that justifies fine dining prices. There's also Bone Marrow Custard and Laughing Tiger, which reimagines the fan-favorite Smiling Tiger Salad that longtime Napa Rose guests remember.

Main dining room standouts feature American Wagyu New York steak served medium rare with grape fennel mostarda, Oak Roasted Forest Mushrooms, and Sorpresine Pasta with Dungeness crab and Santa Barbara uni butter. These are premium ingredients prepared with technical skill, which is what you're paying for at a restaurant like Napa Rose.

Desserts include Nantes Carrot Cake Crémeux and Elevated and Reminiscent Valrhona Chocolate Bar. The dessert program has always been strong at Napa Rose so maintaining that standard with experienced pastry chefs is critical.

Get Ready to Book Fast

Reservations open January 27 at 9 a.m. PST. Please be ready to book immediately if you want a chance at your preferred dates and times. Napa Rose has always been popular, and months of closure have created pent-up demand from fans eager to return.

You can book up to 60 days in advance through Disneyland.com or NapaRose.com. The February 6 reopening means there's minimal wait time between when reservations open and when you can actually dine there, which is great for people who don't want to wait months after booking.

After extensive renovations, Napa Rose is coming back with updates that enhance rather than destroy what made it special. That's the best possible outcome for a beloved restaurant transformation.
