The Soul of Jazz: An American Adventure first debuted at EPCOT’s American Adventure pavilion last year, celebrating not only the characters and story in the hit Disney and Pixar film, Soul (2020) but also the legacy of jazz throughout American history. For the first time on its national tour, The Soul of Jazz will soon be on view on the West Coast, right at the Disneyland Resort!

The exhibition follows Joe Gardener, the musician and mentor from Soul as he invites viewers on a musical journey across the country to share the history of jazz music. To create the exhibition, Walt Disney Imagineering worked with a number of museums and cultural institutions around the U.S. so that The Soul of Jazz could be expertly curated in the way it shares this compelling history with Guests.

Some of the institutions who helped create the exhibition prior to its opening in EPCOT even hosted the exhibition at their sites since it left the park. Currently, The Soul of Jazz is at the National Jazz Museum in Harlem for one more week before it is packed up to make the move to Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort.
The exhibition not only includes informative panels and notes on the making of the film, but a number of artifacts including musical instruments used by notable jazz musicians throughout history that are certainly worth taking the time to see if you are able to visit.
