There’s No Place Like Disney world for Christmas – Fan Favorite Experiences You’ll Love

Christmas Tree Trail

Disney Springs

No need to buy a park ticket to enjoy Christmas at Walt Disney World. Disney Springs has its fair share of holiday décor and activity. Walk the Christmas Tree Trail in the Marketplace area of Disney Springs to see the beautiful Disney film themed trees. Meet Santa at his chalet at the end of the trail. After getting inspired by the themed trees, drop by Disney Days of Christmas in the Marketplace to pick up Disney ornaments and decorations to deck your own halls at home! Enjoy the sounds of Christmas carolers as you sip a hot chocolate from Ghirardelli and watch the carousel light up the Marketplace square. Kids will enjoy an interactive detective experience on Stitch’s Holiday Gift Hunt. Drop by Marketplace Co-Op, Amorette’s Patisserie or one of the other designated locations to pick up a map to begin Stitch’s Holiday Gift Hunt.

Candlelight processional

Candlelight Processional

This beloved experience has been an important part of Walt Disney World holiday history from the start. The Candlelight Processional began in 1958 at Disneyland Resort. When Walt Disney World opened in 1971, the Candlelight Processional immediately became a Christmas tradition for holiday park-goers. This beautiful show combines a choral ensemble of high school students from across the country with a Disney Cast Member choir, orchestra and celebrity guest reader. The group sings a beautiful score of Christmas music as the celebrity guest reads the Christmas story between songs. Readers switch out weekly, so be sure to check the Disney website to learn which readers will be at Candlelight during your visit to Disney. Shows are at 5:00, 6:45 and 8:15 PM November 29th through December 30th.

Guests line up a few hours before the performance to snag good seats, so consider hopping in line to get a seat for the performance at least half an hour prior to show time. If you want to ensure a seat in the amphitheater, consider purchasing the Candlelight Processional Dining Package. This deal gets you a prefix meal at a delicious table service restaurant around Epcot or an Epcot area resort before or after the show and a preferred seat at the show.
